The room and staff and service were all wonderful. The problem is that the design of the hotels means that both the front and back of each room opens up onto a huge, shared terrace which means if other guests are out here (or checking out early/coming in late) you will be disturbed. There were lots of tour groups here... More

we stayed two night there but in two times and were located in different area. first room was oddly designed as you could enter from the opposite side of the room. room looks old but was clean. the second room was smaller and the door was "facing" the entrance of hotel but on level one; in the morning it was... Its a very nice and famous hotel in Champasak province. We stayed in two nights in March and unfortunately we got the same bored buffet breakfast. Just a few dishes available for your choice. You can find a closed restaurant and shop from the hotel

We wanted to break our journey from Don Det to Vientiante and thus we decided to stay for a night in Pakse. Our bus from Don Det was operated by Soutchai and the terminal is just few minutes walk from the hotel. Check in was fast and we shown to our room. Room was spacious, it has another door that... I loved the grandeur of the exterior of the hotel and as the first place we stayed at in Laos was completely over my expectations. It was clean, service was reasonable and location is convenient enough. Those who like to be in the thick of the town may find it out of the way. We booked a car to visit... More

It looks amazing! The building has a very royal feel to it. When I saw it from outside I was astonished by the amazing architecture. Overall facilities provided in the room were OK. Toilet was clean and spacious. bed was also comfortable. for the price it is not a bad option to stay. The only problem was that staff was... More

In general, I really like historic hotels that may be a little faded but has some character. Unfortunately, the only good thing about the Champasak Palace was its facade. The approach from the curved driveway was grand but the florescent lit reception area was like some local storefront, with unfriendly staff to boot. The rambling place was next to empty... More

The Champasak Palace is honestly the oddest hotel I've ever stayed in. From the outside it's absolutely beautiful, it's over the top in its opulence, but inside it's a different story. The interior had seen better days; truly behind the facade the place is tumbling down, but that just adds to the charm of this strange beast. When you stay... More
