We stayed in a beautiful apartment at ground floor which was perfect with the kids. The swimming pool was very nice for the kids and was very good to overview. We quickly felt “at home” thanks to the very friendly owners and staff. We highly recommend this for families with kids, and will go back soon!
Beautiful, trendy appartments, we love the owners Zula & Poppy, the staff Panos & Mina: they will do everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible! Location is good; really close to the centre and beach. The food at Minoa is amazing! We will come back! Efcharisto!
I liked very much their location on a side street and their awesome garden with a nice pool. It is close to shops and beach, just a 3 min walk! ;-) Staff is friendly and willing to help or give any advice. The breakfast and dinner menu were also very good!
I'm kind of reluctant to write a review of this as I'm afraid that this little paradise will be swamped by tourist. Anyway, excellent hotel (great value for money ) good breakfasts (for 6 euro a day), good place to have diner too. The pool and bar area are very nice. The staff is excellent! One point of criticism might be that the rooms are kind of outdated and that it isn't a fully functioning apartment (missing cutlery, just a few pots and pans) but who cares with bar downstairs and all the cheap restaurants in the neighbourhood. The rooms are equipped with air conditioning which can be turned on for 5 euro a day. Probably will be coming back here.
Summer holiday with the 3 of us: mum, dad and a 2 year old. Nice hotel apartments, great environment and atmosphere at the 'compound', small set-up (not a massive tourist hotel), friendly personnel, many restaurants in the area, close to the beach, also at the beach many nice bars to go to and enjoy the beautiful weather.
Our small apartment had everything we needed except power sockets in the kitchen (kettle in bedroom & toaster balanced on setee). Location two minutes' walk from beach and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.
Firstly Amoudara seems devoid of Brits, very popular with the Germans, French and Dutch. The apartments were very typical of Greece and surrounds full of foliage and flowers. Our room was fairly spacious but not very well equipped. There was no Kettle (coffee percolator) or toaster but we did eventually acquire a Kettle from someone who was leaving. Unfortunately said Kettle tripped the electrics if you also has the grill on. Our balcony didn't get any sunshine but it was better than most. The Shower holder was broken so had to hold the shower head which means you'r one handed trying to wash etc. The location was good, just 5 minutes from the beach although we walked a little further on to stay in front of a very good restaurant. We ate at this restaurant every lunch time, good value. Generally the restaurants in this area are not great and you won't get much of a choice with wines. Enjoyed the stay but wouldn't go back. It's the barking dogs, incessant. One just outside these apartments which barked all day long, joined by others in the vicinity, sometimes in the middle of the night. I think there were more dogs in Amoudara than Brits.…
This was the perfect boutique hotel for my first time to Crete. The grounds are gorgeous and the staff always go above and beyond to make sure that you are satisfied. The hotel is set in a perfect location, I loved knowing that I could walk to the beach or talk a stroll through the town center or maybe just stay at the hotel and enjoy the breathtaking views. Another plus is the food!! Every morning I would wake up and eat by the gorgeous outdoor pool. I would recommend the breakfast buffet and Cretan coffee! I would absolutely recommend this hotel. This hotel was my last stop as I traveled throughout Europe and it was without question, the best one! A hidden gem really and I hope to visit again really soon!
This boutique hotel was amazing. The family who runs it goes out of their way to ensure that all their guests are enjoying their time while staying there. They have a pool with lounge chairs right downstairs where we would enjoy several drinks at the bar. The food is great and I recommend the pizza along with trying their breakfast buffet which has a variety of food to choose from. The rooms were kept clean and the beds were comfortable. They take great pride in keeping the premise clean which is a huge plus. Another great selling point was that the hotel is literally a 2-4 min walk from the beach and it is in the center of town so you are right next to several bars and various restaurants. For the past five years, every time I come into Crete, I stay at this lovely hotel. I travel a lot throughout the world and would highly recommend staying at this affordable and welcoming hotel, as I'm sure you will enjoy your stay.…
The rooms are fine but the bed was very hard and the shower was really small. They cleaned it once in the two days. The people are very friendly. During our stay there were a lot of dutch people. The pool was very nice.
