Tina's Youth Hostel is a convenient place to spend the night when visiting Tiger Leaping Gorge, but outside of it's good location and relatively inexpensive rooms lacks any charm or hospitality. We arrived after sunset, having begun our hike in Tiger Leaping Gorge at 11.00 (when the public bus from Lijiang arrives in Qiaotou). Located approx. seven to eight hours...

Essentially this place would get much better recommendations, if the staff would be a bit more friendly, helpful and smiling. Tina's arrange busses to Lijiang at 3.30 pm - which is a pretty stupid time point as no one finishes the Tiger Leaping Gorge hike at that time - which means you have to stay and pay for the night...and...

We stayed here after trekking tiger leaping gorge. Dorm rooms are basic, but what you pay for...£3 a night. The showers had hot water which was nice after a long trek. Tina provides useful maps, transport services, luggage storage etc. Food was average. Mountain views from our room were pretty spectacular. Shared bathroom was a little grubby. Overall not a...

Don't expect to get a rest here after 1 or 2 days hiking. The personell is by far the worst in China.. you have to pay double for a room for a couple of hours.. I was very very sick and they didnt put any energy in my wellbeing. People simply had to get off the bench and go elsewhere....

Stayed at the Halfway Guest House (great) and hiked to Tina's after a morning on the High Trail. Spent two weeks traveling in China quickly discovered that "western standards" for customer service and friendliness are almost entirely non-existent. Unfortunately, Tina's is no different. When I arrived, I sat down, ordered something to eat and drink with the rest of the...

We arrived tired after the first part of Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge and too late to continue to other places. The sign indicating that Tina's was half hour away was misleading due to the bad state of the route down, tougher than 28 bends when combining fatigue with the road. With the steep price we expected something better than a...

I used Tina's to book a bus ticket but wouldn't recommend staying here. The eating area at Tina's reminded me of a grey Chinese roadside cafe, full of flies and Chinese men smoking. I found her (Or at least the person organising tickets) rude and even disgruntled that I interrupted her gossip call to a friend. Tina only seems popular...

We didn't stay at this hostel, but we did have lunch here after exploring Tiger Leaping Gorge. I wouldn't recommend the food, but it's the only place that's really available for lunch for foreigners. The garlic nazi bread (which was delicious at Halfway Guesthouse!) was actually just naan with a dollop of garlic and a puddle of melted butter in...

We used Tina's for our ride from Lijiang to Qiaotou and then stayed at Tina's for 1 night after walking the high trail. The bus ride is good and drops you right at the base of the trail in Qiaotou. They take your bag and store it at the hostel (not locked up). We got a second floor room for...

We arrived by bus from Lijiang late morning. We did not stay here but it is a convenient place (a store room with no lock) to leave our backpack (no charge) for 2 days here. We had noodles before taking the trail down to middle gorge from the point after the bridge, it is Yuan10. You can take the sky...

“You can pay at bit more and get an upstairs twin room - we stayed downstairs as we were on a very tight budget. The difference is you get a bit of a mountain view from the balcony area and your window is not directly onto a road, rather above it instead. I also think you may get sunshine in your room too being higher up.”
