Our room was large, clean and comfortable. No passing traffic so it was quiet. It is near the beach and a few minutes walk to the town. The continental breakfast was adequate and staff members pleasant. No choice of food in the evening for us but this was because we were on a budget package holiday. Mini bar in the room but I longed for a kettle and a cup of tea!

We were staying in Itaca by the sea in May so we hardly saw any other hotel guests. It looks like having been restored recently - unfortunately they have missed one thing: in the room there were only two wall sockets and one of them behind the TV. It is not very easy to charge your mobile phones, laptops etc for two with only two wall sockets. A robust loose socket with too long and stiff wire was delivered when requested. The room was clean as well as the spacious bathroom, too. The furnishing was minimum and the stile traditional, old fashion but adequate. The hotel is next to the beach and the long breakwater, some 800 meters from the old town wall. There must be quite a "rally" on the beach in the summer season. Some buildings next to the hotel were abandoned or under construction that seemed to be on hold - so no particular views from the windows. The pool area in the back yard did not seem very appealing. The breakfast was included but it was quite modest. The service was helpful when needed.

We picked Hotel Itaca because it was near the beach and had a pool. We arrived in the morning after the overnight ferry into Bari, and were looking forward to spending our day recovering and relaxing by the pool. We were told the pool was not working and the best alternative was to pay (extra) for beach loungers at a nearby beach. This wasn't the relaxing stay we were hoping for. The room was very nice.

Stayed here end July-early August. Great location literally across the road from the beach - less than 10 minute walk into Barletta historic centre which is beautiful and buzzing each evening. Very clean hotel. Rooms serviced daily by friendly staff. Bed extremely comfortable. Mini bar in room - no tea/coffee making facility which was disappointing. Breakfast was ok - plenty of confectionary/cold meats/cheese/hard boiled egg/fresh fruitc etc. There were nice fresh warm croissants each morning but no fresh toast or hot food choices which would have been nice. Staff were a bit slow to replenish the coffee/water at the service station. Wifi was almost non-existent in our bedroom - we found the best wifi reception in the foyer towards the far end. Receptionists at the hotel were nice - some friendlier than others with little English. The decor was a little dated. The poolside/pool area is lovely and very clean. Adequate number of chairs/tables - could possibly do with some more. Definitely need more loungers and parasols - not enough of these for size of the area. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel so cannot comment. All in all this hotel is very nice, great location, very clean and comfortable. Would recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We were in Barletta on business, well, my partner was so I was left to sit by the pool. For July, wasn’t busy, not many sunbeds for some reason but plenty of chairs, tables and umbrellas. Great warm pool and clean poolside area. Poolside bar wasn’t open but it was no trouble to enter the hotel and get drinks/coffee etc. from the bar by reception. Shower to freshen up and toilets were right next to the pool. Towels were available from reception. I loved it. All staff from the cleaners to reception were courteous and polite at all times but they didn’t speak much English. Just as well we had an interpreter with us but we got by anyway. Didn’t eat an evening meal in the restaurant but breakfast was the continental variety so okay. The room was nice, not overly spacious but clean and posh. Nice showeroom and wc and a nice little balcony. Wi-fi was free. Mini-bar in fridge. Location wise, just 50 metres from the beach. Town was within walking distance. Highly recommend.

The hotel itself is really average. You need a car to reach the center of the city. Mcdonalds is right next to hotel. Fitness is ok. Great breakfast. It is clean, and price is mid-ranged. Staff of the hotel is nice.

We came in end of September 2015 to visit my family who live in Barletta. This is the hotel they recommended. It was a great choice. Located across the street from the beach and 5 minutes walk from the Fort and 10 minutes walk from the old town, which is so lovely! Lots of bars and restaurants on the boardwalk in front of the hotel. The decor is out of the 1970's but the hotel is very clean and very quiet. The pool is a good size and quit refreshing but a little on the cold side. We didn't mind because it was very hot outside. The room (316) was nice, large and very clean. We did some laundry and the housekeeper brought us a drying rack which was so nice. We believe in packing very light and washing our clothes in the sink. We had a nice ocean view from our balcony. My only complaint is that the beds are as hard as a slab! But I found that to be true in most hotels in Italy. I will be the first to admit I am spoiled and like a softer bed. But if it means I get to visit my family and enjoy Barletta then ok, I will sleep on the slab. We didn't get to try the restaurant because we were always out with the family, but we did have breakfast there. I will say that after a month in Europe and after staying in many hotels, the breakfast here could be greatly improved. But, it was enough to get us through to lunch. I would just like to see them step up their game and make it a little more tasty. There is plenty of parking if you are going to have a car here. I am coming back to visit my family in the spring of 2016 and I'm sure I will stay here again. Overall, this was a nice quiet hotel with very friendly and helpful staff members. I'm glad my cousin was there to speak Italian to them because I only speak a little, although I am trying to learn more. It's a good hotel with reasonable prices, hard beds (some like that), quiet, nice pool, good location, clean and near the beach. I will be back in a few months for another nice stay.

Picked this hotel for its pool and wifi. Pool quiet and great for a swim with few other users. Wifi worked perfectly in room. Cleaning staff were superb ! Continental breakfast . Vacant lot in front of hotel hides what was quite a modern building - swipe cards for rooms and air conditioning that was quiet and efficient. Location just across from beach . Nice long promenades either side of harbour. 5 minutes from the splendid castle with the charming old town just a little further on. 25 minutes walk from railway station

This hotel may be a little outdated when it comes to decor but you just can't fault it. Friendly and helpful staff, decent sized rooms, close to the beach and the historical centre. Lots of free parking too. We enjoyed our stay here!

Hotel Itaca, located near the beach, is a cozy and comfortable hotel. The staff is very kind, the room is spacious, the price is very fair. There is a large parking lot. The breakfast is delicious, and the dinner we ordered was outstanding. It takes less than ten minutes to walk to the nice city center.
