The staff were very polite, the bar area is very charming and has loads of character. The room though was very small,( you have to walk sideways between the bed and the wall) it was quite dated and the bathroom had quite a lot of fittings missing or broken and the shower hose leaked massively. The evening meal and the...

We stayed for two nights in two different rooms. Both rooms were reasonable, but not outstanding. The whole building is a little tired. Breakfast was hot, but a little greasy, Excellent location though right on the square.

The room had a struggle to accommodate the double bed with little space at the bottom or far side; hence one bedside table. I had to dismantle the one bedside light and remove the shade to make the light effective. The bed was very uncomfortable. The window had a blind held up by a shoe lace onto a hook. I...

We stayed for one night at this hotel when attending a wedding at the nearby Swinton Park. Check in is supposed to be at 2pm but having travelled up from Derbyshire we wanted somewhere to freshen up and get ready before the wedding at 3pm. I rang The Bay Horse ahead of booking to ask about the possibility of an...

Really disappointing and most definitely over-priced. We stayed in a standard room at the front of the hotel, not sure why the curtains were even up in the room as they let the sunlight in and made sure you didn't get a good night's sleep, to top that off the local window cleaner decided to park outside and have his...

We stayed 3 nights in a superior room which unfortunately was disappointing. Our room was never serviced the whole time we were there so didn't get fresh towels or our tea & biscuits topped up. There was no bottled water as stated. The room was badly in need of decorating - damp patch on wall, frayed carpet. The tiny shower...

Characterful pub with several real ales on tap, friendly service and comfortable seating. Great atmosphere with many locals coming in and out. Did not try the food but the place was packed at Sunday lunchtime and the food that was coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled good. Located right in the centre of Masham, well worth stopping In...

This is a quirky pub with lots of characters in and out all the time and some quirky staff.. Its not a bad place to stay but needs a good spring clean especially downstairs in the pub .It depends on how fussy you are. The room was clean and served its purpose. The bathroom was clean but the shower was...
