We had a delightful impression as soon as we walked in to the Hotel. The lounge area was beautifully furnished. Further down were dining tables then more dining tables on a sun patio. To the right was a 'cafe' with tables adjacent to the street. We were in a large attic type room (named Mendi). This had a balcony overlooking... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights during our trip to the Basque Country, I really can't recommend it. The manageress (owner?) was most unwelcoming, to the point of rudeness. The pretentious restaurant failed to provide appetising food. And there were flies everywhere! The good points were that the rooms were fine and the breakfast, which featured a good... More

Welcome by lady owner very haughty, arrogant even. At first sight the room was pretty but we discovered a nail head poking dangerously out of the wood floor and the spare pillows were yellow and dusty with age ... We requested some plain boiled rice for our dog, it took nearly 3 hours to get it. At dinner in the... More

After a 25 year gap, my husband found the very updated Oppoca online, and asked if I would like to spend my birthday there. Well, that was a definite yes !!! We flew to Bordeaux and landed in 22 degree sunshine. Not bad for November eh? We then drove the beautiful 2 hour journey to our destination. Outside time stood... More

A party of four of us stayed there last weekend the 22/23 November. It was a trip down memory lane for us as we stayed there 20 years ago. We knew it had obviously changed but we specifically asked for two rooms at the front of the Hotel. On our arrival we were given a friendly greeting by the Lady... More

I stayed at La Maison Oppoca 4 years ago. I had such a wonderful experience 'as a solo traveller' and such a beautiful dinner that this time I took my partner for an overnight stay and was really looking forward to the dinner. We reviewed the set menu in the room in anticipation ... The room itself was the same... More

This place firstly has strong competition from two very excellent restaurants in town. At the time we were ready to eat there were only two places available, Oppoca and the very expensive Michellen starred restaurant down the road. My party was neither dressed for or had the immediate resources to dine at the latter. Firstly the place itself comes across... More

When we arrived there were no signs to the parking area. On being asked if we wanted to have dinner we asked for a menu which was expensive and had nothing that we wanted. We did not want meat or shellfish. This was greeted with a shrug and an attitude that we must be mad. Eventually we found an hotel... More
