Very historic building with stunning views of the Gredos. The beds are rock hard and the Parador needs new investment. The room safes are opened with your credit card using the magnetic stripe, a feature from the 1980’s. Food is good, breakfast buffet but not many staff available to ask for hot dishes. The swimming pool was closed on 1st September but was clearly working. A missed opportunity to close it as its one less facility for Guests to use. Weather was 25 degrees when we stayed so not cold. Parking is a bit haphazard and there is no enforcement of it. The chairs and sofas are warn and could do with recovering. Staff are very attentive

This hotel was definitely one of our favourite stops on our road trip. The hotel is in a beautiful building - a castle dating from the 14th century, and has beautiful views over the town of Oropesa. Our room was very large, with a lovely bathroom, and small armchairs to sit on as well as a desk and extremely comfortable beds. Wifi was good in our room. We were very lucky and had a room on the fifth floor with a window looking over the back of the town as well as one looking out over the Cathedral, from which we were able to see the sun rising - it was a pleasure to wake up early - the light was incredible over the town, and the birds were singing … There is a large area for having breakfast, and we sat by the window overlooking the countryside around - a beautiful view. There is a wide selection of food available - we had a really good breakfast. The water in the pool is a good temperature, and we spent some time relaxing outside. The building of the castle is really worth visiting - there are a lot of communal areas, so there is a lot to see. Reception will also give you a map of the town, which follows a route around all the interesting buildings - it’s really worth following it, as there were a few things that we might have otherwise missed. The service was notable in this hotel - every single person who helped us went out of their way to do their job with excellence - at reception - at breakfast - it was always really very good. Thank you for our wonderful stay! We’ll definitely be back!

We felt very privileged to stay in Parador Oropesa, the former residence of the Álvarez de Toledo family, counts of Oropesa, such a historical building with many nice details! Our room is large and comfortable. The view from the restaurant is amazing and the kitchen is excellent. All the dishes we had was tasteful The croquetas are the best which I have ever tasted. The staff were very friendly. The castle next to the parador is very worth to visit, well maintained. From the parador we also visited the Gredos mountain, beautiful route! Highly recommended.

Stayed with my wife and 1,5 kid and it was great. The place is like an old castell. Dinner was very good with amazing view. Breakfast was also good. The staff is super nice. It is properly cleaned and we felt safe in it during the covid pandemic. Digital experience is horrible though. Very hard to make a reservation online.
