Barceló Tenerife garners praise for its service, with staff often described as friendly and professional, although rare comments mention slower service. The hotel's amenities and cleanliness receive positive remarks, with guests enjoying the spacious rooms and multiple pools, despite some noting the need for bathroom updates and occasional housekeeping lapses.
While the serene location is valued by guests, the presence of airplane noise and extra costs associated with the all-inclusive packages have raised some concerns about overall value and tranquility.

Detailed Reviews
Had a really enjoyable stay, nothing is too much trouble for anyone. Front of house staff were welcoming and informative,. Did not realise at time of booking how many steps and walking would be involved, but I was soon informed I could call reception and request the service of a 'buggy', whenever I needed. The bedroom was a really good size with plenty of storage, spotlessly clean and warm "earthy" coloured decor. Airport very close by, so transfers to and fro are short, but planes can be seen and heard constantly, but to me that wasn't intrusive. A very good and extensive choice of food is available in the buffet restaurant, waiting staff most attentive.

Just spent Christmas in this wonderful hotel, in a sea view room. From the time we arrived there are several hand sanitiser points, at reception we were greeted by friendly staff who were most helpful, our bags were taken at reception and disinfected before being delivered to our room, we felt very welcome as well as being in a very safe environment.
Tables in the restaurant are well spaced out. All meals are served to our table. The food is varied and delicious.
There was a special dinner for Christmas Day which was mouth watering and delicious, our glasses were replenished regularly.
The General Manager Alirio Perez was present and made everyone feel relaxed and special. Every member of staff were so welcoming and attention to every detail made for an amazing experience.
We will definitely be back.

Fourth visit to this hotel which is unusual for us. The hotel is away from the commercial districts which are easily visited by a twice daily free coach service. On this excursion you can walk the coastal path from Los Christianos to Adece should you wish which is interesting for people watching but makes the return to Sandos San Blas even the nicer. Newly completed coastal path route from San Blas available in both directions for walking. The hotel offers large rooms with large beds and a variety of swimming pools, only some are heated in Winter. There is a gourmet restaurant available to visit once every seven day stay. This has improved enormously over time. The main buffet area produces many styles of excellent cuisine with a pastry chef second to none. There are two snack bars for late breakfast pastries, fruit or a selection of hot food. The all inclusive nature takes away any stress and the staff throughout are helpful and courteous. This part of the Island can be windy at certain times but having just stayed for ten days in calm glorious sunshine it is extremely good value for a Winter Sun break. The food and service much better than our recent break in Barbados that cost three times the price.

The hotel was designed with every consideration to being environmentally friendly, and when it was constructed this would have been quite visionary. It is a very spacious complex, spread over a wide area. Therefore, this can entail a great deal of walking especially from the bar to the restaurant; we were in the block furthest from reception and the journey took us through passageways, past atriums and up three levels. However, there are plenty of gently sloping walkways for those who prefer a slow meander.
The food in the buffet restaurant is based on quantity, but we found that the quality varies. However, every dinner time there was a choice of Italian food, seafood, salads and there was invariably a roast.
The rooms are well appointed, however we found them noisy, it was all too easy to hear what was going on in neighbours’ room.
There is good high-speed internet access throughout complex, however, the log in procedure was complicated and it took several attempts to log on initially.
Final consideration is the proximity to the airport. The final approach path was 500 metres to the North of the complex; luckily during our stay there were no departures to the West!
Would we visit again, probably not.

We stayed three days and it was more than enough. Restaurant and bar were okay but three days more than enough. Waiters were very sparing with the glasses of wine and wine bottles were not left on the table. The spa was awful. The hotel didn't promote the reserve at all. Walking tours were very limited and booked up well in advance. Maps and trails for self walking were not available. In effect it was the same as staying in a built up residential area. Also very difficult to find ones way around the resort. One regular said that everyone gets lost there.

Just returned from two weeks in Sandos San Blas. This was our second visit to the hotel, although the first time over the Christmas period. The hotel and rooms were spotless and all the staff very friendly. There were a few children about but were no problem as there are adult only pools and sections of the dining room. There was plenty of variety of foods to suit all tastes and our only winge was that the food and plates were quite often warm rather than piping hot. All the waiters/waitresses were on the ball ready to top up drinks up or clear away plates as required. A special mention to Vincente, Ana and Geovanna for looking after us so well.
My wife and I enjoy walking and the hotel is situated in an ideal spot for this, with Los Abrigos about 1 km to the left and San Blas which a lot bigger village with a supermarket as well as the usual tourist shops the same distance to the right. There were also the marina to walk to and two golf courses within walking distance.
A super hotel which we shall visit again.

This is a really good hotel located just 10 -15 minutes drive from the airport but in its own little haven of tranquility.
Uniquely designed with traditional but modern architecture, the staff are welcoming and friendly and the facilities excellent.
A modern and stylish interior, the different accommodation areas are situated around central pools (heated and non heated) and bars which drop away down towards the beach front in an infinity arrangement.
The main restaurant is spacious and clean with smaller dining areas positioned around the central buffet, so providing for more secluded dining rather than one large canteen!
The buffet is varied, plentiful and tasty with a good range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.
There is a lovely spa and a pleasant, easy and enjoyable walk along the newly constructed prom running from the local town to the east to the marina in the west.
A really good addition by the local authority. Total walking time to one or the other about 30 minutes from the hotel.
The hotels guided tour through its own museum, interactive experience and eco reserve is definitely worth doing but needs to be booked as popular.
Would recommend a sea facing room in Block A which is closest to the main restaurant, pools and seafront.
When in Tenerife again would definitely stay here.

We were lucky enough to visit this hotel twice last year which speaks for itself. It’s a fabulous, clean hotel with everything you could ask for on a relaxing holiday. If you want a hotel that keeps the bars open until early morning and 24 hour partying then it’s not for you I’m afraid.
The evening entertainment was outside in the hotter months and we had a super time watching the shows, especially the tribute acts.
The food is excellent with freshly cooked omelettes/eggs at breakfast and a grill for fish, meat etc on an evening. You certainly won’t starve here.
The house wine on the All Inclusive was super, no need to pay extra to upgrade.
We also ate out in Los Abrigos fishing harbour which is out of the hotel to the left over the beach. Would highly recommend the restaurant at the top of the harbour on the right (you can’t miss it) and Tasquita el Puerto halfway down the harbour hill.
There is a free coach twice a day from the hotel into Las Americas if you fancy a change.
Planes take off and land over the hotel but don’t let that put you off, it’s not all day or evening and can be quite fun watching them come in. The bonus side is that it’s a 10 minute transfer from the airport.
The staff are fabulous and some even remembered us on our second visit which was quite touching.
Our teenagers had a fabulous time, enjoyed the food, free WiFi, made friends and enjoyed all the evening entertainment.
The a la carte restaurant was a nice change from the buffet and the food was lovely. Make sure you book it when you arrive at the hotel if you want a specific time and day.
The beds can be a bit hard but if you ask for a topper at reception they will sort it for you.

Firstly, for anyone with walking difficulties, this is probably not the hotel for you.The hotel is one big maze, with the main lobby bar at the top end, and the two restaurants located at the bottom end, walking between the two, going from the restaurant to the lobby bar is, shall we say, rather strenuos.
We flew out with Tui,to what they describe as an a la carte hotel, however, it may have been in its day, but the status now overrates the standard of accommodation.
On arrival, we were not allowed our room key, until we provided a 100 euro deposit for "incidentals and breakages"? a first for us, in any A.I. hotel we have ever stayed in, in all our years of holidaying.
Our first room suffered from a noisy air conditioning unit, and we were obliged to request a room change. This was done promptly, and efficiently. Thank you.
The room itself, was a generous size, with jacuzzi bath and walk in shower, however the heavy wood effect gave a dull overall feel. The once white bedding, was now nearer grey, and added to the dull appearance of the room.
The beds, although reasonably comfortable, are similar to hospital beds,( on wheels) and it proved almost impossible to sit up in bed and have your morning coffee,if you did, you found the bed moving down the room, from the non attached headboard wall. It certainly gave a new meaning to coffee on the go.!!
The room was functional, if not luxurious, there was a fridge supplied but no mini bar,you had to pay extra for that. The A I finished at 11 pm.. Rather early?
Water was part of the A.I. and I did like the bottle refill system to minimise the amount of plastic bottles, however many guest were unaware of the practice.
We were able to get into the swimming pools, (not too cold) the sunbeds and parasoles and parasole bases, were mainly in a well used condition.
The food in the one buffet restaurant, is not the worst you will come across, and the desserts were very good. Branded drinks are availble, and the staff were very friendly and courteous.
At checkout, the receptionist never showed an interest, if we had enjoyed our stay?
was everything ok ? no recognition whatsoever.
In summary, not the hotel for us, too large, to difficult to get round, fairly tired in the majority of cases, and not enough selection of different restaurants.
Thank you to all who looked after us.
Rita and Alistair..

Reception lady was so lovely, I didn’t catch her name but she spoke many languages and would do anything to make your stay more pleasant. When we arrived we were not happy with the room as it looked out onto a wall, currently in correspondence with booking company as we know we requested for a pool/ sea view. Reception had no issues in changing our room and a concierge even came to move luggage for us.
Bottle of wine in room on arrival and water. You need to download the App for more details on the hotel as they have gone paperless.
Rooms contains hairdryer, kettle, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, shaving kit, toothbrush kit, dressing gown and slippers.
Jose Rajon and Laura in plaza bar cleaned continuously and very polite and helpful.
Valentini in the lobby bar is Lovely he can never do enough you.
Live entertainment in the lobby bar every evening, this is nice if you don’t fancy the Magma room which also has shows/entertainment every evening. We went as a couple for our anniversary and left children at home however I would take them to this hot all as the mini disco was also on every night.
Tuesday night singer was amazing in magma room.
The bus 483 is the quickest to los christianos and only 2€ per person.
Jose aqua gym entertainer so funny had everyone up and joining in, he was very energetic.
Drinks are brought to table in the lobby bar
Pool bars you have to wait and take your drinks no table service understandable as can be too busy, plastic for around the pool and glass if you are seated outside the bar. The snack menu is not included for all inclusive however you pay a subsidised rate.
The lowest pool is only heated one so people tend to go there obviously be different in summer when the sun is hotter to heat pools and it would be high season so other pools would be heated.
Maids everyday always clean towels, and a fresh carton of water. On our anniversary we were left fizz and chocolate strawberries in our room such a lovely gesture.
We did not eat in the al a crate as this was not open I assume it’s because it’s low season. Food was nice and fresh, not always piping hot but never cold. It would have been nice to have continental meats at lunch and not just breakfast. We never missed a meal and we’re always happy.
Signage not great in all areas, lifts only seem to go to certain rooms on certain floors, this. Can be confusing to get to places. The hotel is massive would highly recommend and definitely want to return
