First the hotel - Our room in the main building was not huge but sufficient. The bathroom was very modern with a nice walk-in shower. Sufficient toiletries, a blow dryer, and plenty of towels. Bed was very comfortable with fluffy duvets. Our room was on the first floor and I did not see an elevator. The room and bathroom were very...

Following advice from other Trip Advisor contributors, my wife and I decided to stay in Kientzheim instead of more popular Colmar or Riquewihr That was a success as town is rather small and quiet, while immaculately maintained and very close to other towns, to the point they can be visited by biking or even walking, as we did (need some...

we were on a cycle tour, and fancied an ice cream and coffee. At first the lady seemed to not want to serve us, only offering full meals. Went inside and spoke to someone else who didthe honours. Very pleasant sitting outside

Kientzheim is a lovely village, typically alsacian , in which you can walk around in the evening, very quiet because there is no crowd of tourists...and it is a very good base from where to visit all the region, colmar, riquewhir , eguisheim, etc. The Schwendi is a family-run hotel and restaurant ,all staff is very smiling and friendly. Big rooms,...

Reviews said that staff spoke English poorly. It was part of the reason we chose it as we wanted to be pushed to try French but in fact we found their English to be perfectly adequate. The hotel is a beautiful old building in this very pretty Alsatian village. The village itself is quiet but Kayersberg is just a couple...

which was dog and people friendly with comfortable large rooms, clean and an excellent restaurant. Very difficult not to repeat what others have already said but in our experience all Continental hotels in villages and towns have church bells, clocks and the like. We find it attractive though as the omnipresent urban noise in the UK seems to be that...

We decided to book this hotel as it offers free parking. The room was ok for one night and the staff were quite friendly. The church bell rings every hour and you can not sleep with open windows. Rooms have air-condition!

Excellent in every respect. Large spotless rooms, simple but of quality. In the middle of lovely and quiet village. Suits best for driving holidays, parking is free, definite plus over the somewhat larger and busier towns in the vicinity. Restaurant is well worth having dinner even every night of the stay. Friendly family run place.

This was our 2nd visit & we had another enjoyable stay. Our room was across the road from the hotel but it was very large with wet room. All very clean & well decorated. The food in the restaurant was all we had experienced in the past apart from my husbands dessert which was a tired piece of fruit tart...

Hosteller in Schwendi is a great place to stay when in Kientzheim or any of the nearby beautiful villages. We used the hotel as our base when visiting this part of Alsace with a small group of friends. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and the dining rooms offers excellent food of a very high standard. In addition to the...
