We loved our time at Coconut Grove! Jip, Kelvin and the rest of the staff were so welcoming, friendly and helpful - Kelvin even gave us a great surfing lesson! The apartment is very clean and tidy with a big double bed. While the restaurant serves up super yummy food. One thing we weren’t sure about was staying in a place without a swimming pool, but actually the sea is so nice and warm we wouldn’t have used one anyway - and we had so much fun playing in the waves. Tioman is so idyllic and there was hardly any people. We are so used to beaches full of people and towels, we couldn’t believe how much space we had. We couldn’t recommend staying here any more highly! Thank you Jip and Kelvin!

The location of 1511 Coconut Grove -- at the far end of Juara Beach, Tioman Island -- is my favorite location of any place I've stayed in SE Asia (and I've lived and travelled here extensively over the past five years). The beach is huge, clean, and beautiful. There are waves at times, clear water for snorkeling, and lots of beach activities (especially with the Barat next door). It was the perfect family beach. It has boogie boards and waves for the teens, a great tidal pool/river for our young one, and some of the most beautiful scenery of any beach for us adults to relax. The accommodation itself was very good as long as expectations are clear. There will be bugs and low water pressure in your rustic chalets. But they are clean and comfy, and they open right up to the beach. The restaurant served good food and cold beers, and at night we watched the flying lemurs glide from tree to tree as the sun went down on the beach scene. It was as close to paradise as I could imagine. …

We stayed couple days with friends, the place is excellent , the little houses are clean and nicely decorated. Every night they do small activities like karaoke and stuff, it’s very fun. You can also rent surf boards, and have fun in the pristine beach, I wasn’t expecting surfing in Tioman, but I’m glad I did, they husband of the owner gave us classes, besides the fact that we all suck at surfing, he never lost hope, quite impressive. Only downside is the breakfast, but it’s included so it’s actually alright

Very relaxed place even during monsoon season beautiful part of Tioman.. The tower rooms are not for the faint hearted but amazing and unique. Beautiful vibe to the place food it’s mainly Malaysian/Chinese what you get in most places on Tioman and was good quality. Will be back soon

1. Booked the house transfer form Tekek, cheaper by Rm5. They are very attentive to our need for transportation. 2. Can rent swimming gear, bicycle, arrange transportation, island hopping trip with the front desk. Just ask away. 3. The family room is with shared bathroom with connecting doors 4. Breakfast option was rather limited to English, American breakfast but the ala carte menu was great 5. Ask for turnover service, they did it. 6. Walk until the end of the beach you will find beautiful River that connecting to the nearby waterfall.

We stayed at 1511 Coconut Grove for 3 nights and we had an amazing experience. This is just a few things that we loved: ● Our chalet had a balcony with seating area, sea views and air conditioning and hot water in the shower. ● We will never forget the beautiful sunrises that we saw from our chalet balcony. ● The breakfast was delicious with a few menu options that way you can try different things everyday. ● All the staff was very professional, nice and kind. They really know how to take care of their guests. ● Amazing location just on the beach and a quiet area but close to restaurants and small shops. ● 1511 Coconut Grove has a restaurant with amazing food and really good vibes. We had, without a doubt an amazing experience! We really recommend staying here.

Tioman is a gem. We absolutely love 1511 Coconut Grove! It's cosy, hospitable, quiet, music ia good and the food is great. The internet is sketchy but who wants socmed and work when you are on a break?! There's a turtle hatch next door and we went to release some baby turtles. Lots of warungs along the Kampung Juara stretch for you to go warung hopping. The sea is rough in the morning but pleasant in the evening. The seabed is flat but you can snorkel at about 100metres from it. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 instead of 5 is because I like them to repair their beach chaise, the e-tricycle, and maybe put on some hooks in the bathroom for us to hang our towels because I love to come again! 😍😍😍

I enjoyed my 3 nights stay here. The only complaint i have is i and my son waited at Tekek jetty for our transport, which Jip in his email’s response that transport would be arranged but did not turn up. For this i did not want to give them 5 stars for this review. They should serious review such oversight and not repeat it again. Other then this , i am happy to stay here and will stay here again if I visit tioman again. The hotel is nested at the far end of the concrete pavement (also served as the only runway for vehicles) fill with beautiful greenery surrounding setting. Room is clean and well equipped but without TV (i dont TV is needed, the wifi signal is good and enough to keep you occupied if you want to connect to the digital world). We took all out meals here and I considered foods is above average and the price is reasonable. Staff is helpful and friendly. One thing the hotel can improve is to set up more beach facilities such as more beach bench. The current sets are too few and lack maintenance. I and my son brought ourselves with foldable field chair and we really enjoy sitting close to the sea enjoying the sun rise and in the evening looking at sea and the azure skies.…

Wonderful place with amazing and kind staff here. The food here is also very amazing but do expect that there might be some flies. The only thing I am not happy about is after emailing the hotel to send me and my dad a taxi to the hotel but after reaching Tekek jetty the taxi did not turn up and me and my dad have to find ourselves a taxi to the hotel. Overall I’m still very happy staying here and wound definitely come back to stay again if I visit Tioman island.

We stayed here while our children attended the nearby children's nature camp and it was a lovely visit. The hotel is at a beautiful quiet site at the end of a gorgeous beach, very close to the Juara Turtle Project sanctuary. The rooms exceeded our expectations, we had a clean and spacious connecting room, with a beautiful wraparound porch with a view of the ocean. The food was good--the included breakfast was served quickly and was tasty and there was a good range of seafood and vegetable dishes for lunch and dinner. The restaurant is in a nice open-air setting, and sometimes there is live music at night, which was a nice treat. And the wi-fi even worked--a change from our last trip at a different Tioman hotel. The best part of the stay were the staff--who were very kind and friendly--they would go out of their way to find items for guests that they had forgotten to bring and help with requests to make our stay better. We'd happily come back again.…
