We weren’t sure what to expect with reading some bad reviews prior to going but we have no complaints at all. On arrival the receptionist was lovely, explained everything to us, there are a few things at extra cost but you don’t have to buy them, high speed WiFi, beach towels, use of the safe etc. You do have to do a holding payment of 100 euros when you arrive but the day we left you could see it was removed from the card. The hotel is so clean and tidy, rooms cleaned daily and bed sheets changed as often as you like. We had breakfast within our deal which hit the spot every day. Only thing about going in January was how cold the pool was which we braved once so we made use of the jacuzzis instead. It’s in a really good location and walking distance to all the lively places at night. The hotels bar and restaurant looks so nice too, and I’m sure in the middle of summer it has such a good vibe going on! Couldn’t of asked for a nicer hotel for the week. The staff were lovely and had no issues at all.

staff have instructions for purchasing options. Everything is at an additional cost: decent wifi, a mattress by the pool, towels. The rooms are not soundproofed. no service and no smile. But the food is good.

I’ve just returned from spending 4 nights over New Years at the Sanom Beach Resort and I’ll admit, I was a little apprehensive before my arrival based on some of the reviews below. However, any nervousness I had quickly went away once at the resort. We arrived about 8:30pm and we were greeted by a friendly receptionist, who checked us in and gave us all the information we needed about the resort. The reviews below are correct, that 100 euro deposit is blocked on a credit card and if you want to use the safe in your room, there is a 3 euro charge per day for this. The charge for the safe can be paid at check out and having visited Gran Canaria for over 10 years, this is not unusual and happens in most hotels. Once we were checked in, we were shown to our room and around the resort, told where the pool was, restaurant opening times and where the gym was. The hotel has recently been renovated and everything still looks pristine. The room was excellent, a few other reviewers have commented about noise from other rooms, we had people staying on either side of our room and didn’t hear a thing from either room. The only noise we heard was from music being played in the resort on New Years Eve/ New Years Day but this was to be expected and stopped at 1am. We had a Bed and Breakfast reservation and the breakfast buffet had everything you would expect with plenty of options to suit everyones needs. My only complaint about breakfast would be the coffee machines, as they were painfully slow, but the coffee was excellent once poured. We ate lunch twice at the resort, the food was reasonably priced and was excellent. There’s a nice pool area with plenty of sun loungers available, along with 2 hot tubs and balanise beds. Other reviewers are correct, to use the balanise beds you have to pay 30 euro. At no point we’re these used by anyone during our stay. For pool towels the hotel ask for a 10 euro deposit per towel, which is returned when you check out. The towels can be changed as often as you like and if you are going to the beach you can exchange the towels for a beach towel. I’ve stayed at other hotels in GC where deposits are requested, so this wasn’t an issue for me. The pool itself was freezing, but this was down to the time of the year and in the warmer months it would be perfect. Other reviews have complained about not being able to drink your own drinks around the pool, on our first day we thought we’d give this a try and based on what we had read expected to be told it wasn’t allowed. The life guard on duty did come over and he explained that glass bottles and cans were not allowed near the pool area, but then offered to go and get us plastic cups to have our drinks in. Which we then used for the remainder of our stay. Overall, my experience and stay at the Sanom Beach Resort was perfect I was really impressed, all the staff were extremely friendly and the resort is spotlessly clean. Our stay was so good, we’re looking to return later in he year. Very impressed and I would definitely recommend staying here.

To be honest I don't with the negative reviews below. My mother booked here for 6 nights for my 30th birthday. When we arrived we were welcomed by a young lady, she explained everything from the get go. Yes the other reviews are correct with some extra charges. There is a deposit of 10 per person per pool / beach towel which you can change everyday and the deposit is refunded on your departure. This seems to be normal practice as I have paid a deposit is several hotel previously. There is free wifi it didn't work very well in our room but I had no issues with it around the pool area. Clearly some people think being in your phone constantly is a very important part of the holiday.. for me not so much it's all about the r&r We were in room 1901, perfect for us The beds are very comfortable the bathroom was large. The room was very clean and was cleaned everyday of our stay. The staff at the outside bar were lovely, they were very attentive, we were never waiting to order and they always brought out drinks to us ny the pool. We ate in the hotel restaurant for lunch a few times. The food was lovely and the portions were very large. Again the staff were fantastic. Our last full day happened to be my 30th birthday, the staff arrange for a lovely surprise of a bottle of prosecco in my room with a lovely note for the them. It honeslty was so thoughtful. Thank you so much, it helped make my birthday!! I would 100% recommend this place to family and friends. We had a great stay & I hope to come back soon.

Checking in to Sanom Beach went well or so I thought when I arrived to my room. Minibar was locked, safety deposit box didn’t work or have instructions and there was a trick how to lock the sliding door (slam it until it’s locked). Therefore I had to go back to the reception to ask these things. The accommodation itself was very nice and very clean (cleaners workday lasts until in the evening). Also the other premises have been done well though missing water in the decorative basins along the walking paths. I loved the location as it’s so close to Yumbo. Good thing that I had my earplugs and eye mask with me as the inverter’s off light lit up the room and the terrace’s pentice kept rattling noise when it was windy. Breakfast servicing was alright for the price I paid as I booked the room before this resort was finished (nowadays the prices are double to that). Half of the breakfast staff were clearly unmotivated as day after day clients fetched knives and forks from a drawer by themselves as they many tables weren’t set. It was a positive bonus to be able to invite my friends on a very windy day to the poolside free of charge and we had a lovely day. During that (windy) day both poolside and and jacuzzi side had customers, but only one bar was open despite of two people working in one bar. People at the crowded pool had to get their drinks from the other side of the complex or more easily from their rooms. However Kudos to the lady working at the bar and serving the drinks. I had my return flight on Sunday evening so I made the reservation until Monday and checked out on Sunday evening. Checking out process was basically rude and the lady just said it’s now ok (no “How was your stay?” or anything like that). I had to separately ask about the 100 euros credit card reservation for the minibar and poolside drinks and she said that they will release it. Now 17 days later the reservation is still there and two phone calls to the hotel hasn’t made any difference. Overall this resort has potential as they have great premises and a few dedicated employees.
