We stayed here for a week in August. Jet 2 were amazing, we breezed through check-in and customs at Manchester airport and then was met by a rep and private transfer in Menorca which cost only 16 pounds return transfer. Only 30 minutes to the hotel. We got there for about 12.30pm and were able to check in straight away then make lunch. The buffet restaurant always has seating, self serve soft drinks, beer, wine and prosecco. The food is to a good quality, varied, fresh and always hot. A good mixture of salads, fresh meats, fish, pizza, pasta and vegetables. There is also a small selection of food available at the pool bar. The rooms are spacious and everywhere in the hotel very clean. The pool is a good size and a perfect temperature. There is entertainment throughout the day and Nacho (one of the lead entertainment staff) is amazing. Always happy and very friendly and is a joy to be around. There is entertainment on an evening, mini disco and various acts singing and dancing. Their talents are varied, one of the best was the flamenco dancers. There isn't much around the hotel, the sea is 5 minutes walk with stones but ladders if you fancy a swim. Overall a nice relaxed holiday, perfect for couples who want a chilled out getaway.

This was our first package holiday, staying half board, as a family travelling with our 17 year old daughter. We stayed in a sea view room on the fourth floor which was very good, beautiful view and worth paying the extra for it. For the air conditioning to work best, if you leave a key card in all the time it keeps the room cool. Our sheets and towels were cleaned on request. The food is fabulous as noted in previous reviews and the managerial staff work very hard to maintain good standards. Special note of thanks to Barek and also to Mercedes who made a great effort to be friendly and consistently provided an excellent service. The inside of the hotel is well maintained and water always provided. We felt no need to buy bottled water. The pool area is clean with adequate sunbeds available, supervised by a vigilant lifeguard. The pool is heavily dominated all day by children playing with a ball however we expected this at the height of summer. We enjoyed the water aerobics class for a bit of fun and was surprisingly a good workout! We visited the nearby Kentia beach club, for a day pass of 10 euro, and we received a bottle of water and towel. It was a little bit of luxury and we made use of sea swimming as well as use of the pool. Again the staff were very friendly and approachable. The evening entertainment was good fun with all the team and Nacho made an effort to speak to families and brought great energy to the evenings, a joy to be around. We visited Cala Alcafar to sea swim, which was beautiful and also made use of the free transfer to Mahon one day. I liked that the hotel has a range of visitors from various countries. We were aware that it was a quiet resort but that suited us well and we explored local areas. We really don't have any major complaints and we would all love to return again sometime. My only suggestion would be if you inform visitors on arrival of how to work the air conditioning to be most effective this would be helpful. Also for visitors who are half board at evening dinner time drinks are not included, so perhaps providing soft drinks would be welcomed. Thank you to your team, we had a great holiday.

We just got back from a four day stay here. It is such a lovely hotel, so clean and everyone is so friendly. It’s a beautiful resort, the views are so stunning and there’s a large sports area with tennis courts and bowls and a basketball court.

The room comes with a huge bed, bath/shower, tea and coffee, and a little fridge. We also had a balcony (without sea view) but even still our view was so lovely. You have the choice to have your sheets and towels changed daily, but they encourage you not to due to water waste.

There’s a great selection of drinks at the bar for all inclusive and the food selection was pretty good most of the time. I do wish there were more Spanish options to try more regularly but this is a personal thing I suppose!

The resort is very quiet and peaceful this time of year, as I think someone mentioned below. We found that perfect. The weather was a bit iffy, two days of bright sunshine, one a bit overcast and one with wind and torrential rain.

We did find it was a nice mix of couples, friends, families and solo travellers though. The resort felt very safe.

Just a couple of things to point out!

1. Be mindful of chicken cooked on the hot plate at lunch and dinner time, mine was uncooked. Staff could not have been more apologetic, they truly are wonderful, but just to be mindful as had I eaten it, it could have been so nasty.

2. It’s quite difficult to get anywhere from this hotel without cars or taxis. There’s only one bus to Mahon which leaves at 9am! We didn’t fancy getting up that early on our holidays. A taxi to Mahon each way was €15-20. Even the buses back leave at odd times such as 10:00am, then not another until 3:40pm. *we went at the start of the season and this may change when the resort is busier*.

3. This time of year the pool is FREEZING. Even on our hottest day it was 20 degrees and it was so hard to enjoy the pool. I couldn’t even bring myself to take the plunge in! My boyfriend went in but found he couldn’t swim as it was far too cold.

4. The entertainment is… not for lack of trying… not the best. We found sitting in the bar area and taking a pack of cards with us in the evening was much more enjoyable.

Honestly, these small faults wouldn’t put us off coming again. It was very lovely and I would definitely recommend.

We had a week away here at the beginning of October with our 1 year old and we had an amazing week. The hotel is lovely inside and out. Staff are very attentive and adored our little girl, they even remembered her name and every meal time they came and spoke to her and gave her a lot of attention which she loved. Especially Barek who was very attentive making sure she had a high hair when in the restaurant.
The food was very nice, your typical all inclusive but still very nice. The drinks were good, a lot on the all inclusive but still a few brands you had to pay a couple of euros for if you wanted them.
The maids tidied up our room when cleaning it one morning which was very nice of them especially as the room was rather messy with toys and books everywhere so it was nice to have it neat and tidy.
When people say there’s nothing there they aren’t wrong! 2 shops, 2 bars but that’s it so very quiet but it makes a change from the streets being lined with people like they normally are in Spain!
If you have a younger child there is a park across the road from the hotel which is very nice, definitely a good place to take children to keep them entertained!
We would most definitely return to this hotel in the near future!

If you're looking to relax, eat and drink, then this is the hotel for you.
The hotel is very clean and the staff are great!!
The location is very quiet, with not a lot to do outside the hotel. For us though, this was perfect.
There was a bus you could book with the hotel to take you to Mahon ( free of charge 🙂), but is best to book when you arrive, as can get filled very quickly. Market days in Mahon are Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Also, a road train goes every half hour around the village, also free, that stops at the seafront, the supermarket and the 2 restaurant/bars. A 3rd bar was already shut for the season when we arrived.
There is entertainment every evening and during the day things like mini golf and rifle shooting.
A very well equipped gym, bowls and tennis are also available.
Rooms have a small fridge and a large bottle of water is supplied, which can be refilled at any bar or at the restaurant whenever needed.
The bathrooms are good, with large mirror and a hairdryer. The soap and shower gel provided is a lovely lemony fresh smell and great if you've forgot your own. The safe is free to use and there are 2 full length mirrors. We had a rear room, which would be great for the hotter summer weather, as no sun at any time to make the room hot.
Food at the hotel is good. They even had English back bacon at breakfast ! Always a good choice, although sometimes not the hottest, but there was a microwave if you wanted to heat anything.
We had a lovely holiday and couldn't really fault anything.

This was our third visit to this hotel. The staff were genuinely welcoming and friendly. The hotel rooms have improved with the refurbishment. The entertainment was very good with a wide variety of acts, The entertainment team were excellent. The bar in the sports area was excellent with great views. Walking the Cami trails was fantastic with wild tortoises, Red Kites, Hoopoe, dragonflies and lizards. The coastal scenery is amazing with massive sea arches on the tower on the walk towards Punta Prima. The reception team were brilliant in the way they helped us with covid testing and paper work to get home. The food in the pool bar and restaurant was very good and the restaurant had some very good wines from Spain and Menorca. The room was cleaned to a very high standard following all of the covid regulations, The greatest strength of this hotel is the staff who all seem happy and enjoy their jobs with a smile on their face. We will return because this hotel provide us with our perfect holiday.

S’algar is beautiful. It’s a residential area, with a couple of local amenities. There is no beach, which has not influenced my review, as I looked at a map when I booked this hotel.
Transport to and from the airport is short, and it’s approx €17 for a taxi or €1.80 for a bus to Mahón.

The Illa is a real mixed bag.

The pros;
The location - if you’re looking for something close to the airport in a chilled resort.
Very clean (apart from the bed linen which wasn’t changed due to an island cleaning strike??)
Friendly staff, always willing to help.
Prompt bar service, never more than a few minutes for a drink.
Excellent animation staff; energetic and fun, but never pushy.

The cons;
The rooms are TINY. I spent a week hitting my head on the lamp shade I had to sleep under. They are not “family rooms”, and I doubt a wheelchair user would be able to access the bathroom.
The main meals were ok (mass AI standard), but the snacks were lacking and often empty. For example, all I could get this afternoon was bread, an apple or some salad. The only pots of ice cream so far have been hazelnut, and the slushie machine in the pool bar hasn’t been working all week.

My main gripe is the noise. The evening entertainment is staged under the majority of the rooms, so it’s not quiet until 23:30/00:00…. In addition the hotel gardeners start up the leaf blowers around 06:30, so not ideal if you’re a light sleeper/have a younger child.

Overall, a nice resort and a clean hotel, which is spoiled with late night/early morning noise, and a lack of snacks/ice creams for the kids.

lovely quiet hotel situated in a quieter area of Menorca. We stayed for 2 nights (3 days) over the may bank holiday & enjoyed ourselves. The weather on the first day was excellent but on the second overcast albeit warm. The food is very good, a good variation of all types of food & very fresh. The hotel is popular with english holiday makers & the entertainment at night is better than most. All in all a lovely place to spend a few days, however if the weather is not the best apart from a lovely walk to Punta Prima (c.€11 taxi) there isn’t much to do outside the resort. NOTE: on checkout, the all inclusive part of your stay ends at 12pm, not great if you have a later check out like we did (17:30pm) but this is not monitored by staff & the pool bar is always available for food & drink. There is also some charges worth noting with fresh beach towels etc. Mandy on front desk is very knowledgable & happy to help wherever required.

Second time we've been to this hotel this year, and I couldn't recommend it enough.

The staff here are absolutely amazing, they will go out there way to make you feel welcomed, and are really friendly, they work really hard and that's everyone from the restaurant staff to the entertainment staff.

The food is really good, always loads of choice, and plenty of chances to eat throughout the day, even for kids. Drinks choices are as good cold and alcoholic, coffee in the pool bar is the best.

Pool area is really clean, ample amounts of sunbeds but yes people still put towels out really early. The sports facilities are also really good, with a bar area for a break inbetween.

The rooms are spacey enough, always clean and the housekeeping make the beds everyday and have a tidy up, we made sure things were tidy away so they didn't have to work round our mess.

As the island is so small there are places to walk to within an hour or a taxi ride to Mahon which costs about €15.

I would always get a taxi from the airport as its about €25 rather than the expensive transfer fees that the holiday companies charge.

I would definitely come back here

We have just had a really enjoyable stay at this hotel. Very friendly and informative welcome from Mandy at reception on our arrival and a welcome glass of Cava to start our holiday off. Our room was modern, well furnished and spotlessly clean as was all the hotel. We had booked a deluxe room, which was not huge but had a large terrace with sunbeds, sea views, coffee machine, kettle, fridge, safe and a huge comfortable bed. Our room was well maintained throughout as was the super modern bathroom with large walk in shower.
The hotel has some very attractive lounge areas, one where there is evening entertainment. This was a mix of professional singers, flamenco dancers and several quizzes, games etc. organised by the hotel entertainment team, Nacho and Ilaria who were amazing, so friendly and enthusiastic. They also organised daytime entertainment, pool games etc., all good fun.
Restaurant was buffet style, a very good selection of food with show cooking station. We did find however some of the dishes could have been warmer some evenings. Service was very friendly and efficient especially from Barek, the manager, who always had time for a chat and made us feel welcome.
Pool area is very well furnished, plenty of good beds ( with towels) and parasols. There is an adjacent pool bar for drinks but not all the range is available on all-inclusive, some are at a supplement. We tried a couple of cocktails on the all-inc. but were disappointed as they were the pre mixed type. All other drinks were fine.
The hotel has good sports facilities, tennis, mini putting green, garden chess, football pitch etc., all looked very well maintained and there is a sports bar in the complex.
Location is good, five minutes walk to sea front and there is also a complimentary hotel bus service to a small beach at Punta Prima and into the capital, Mahon about 15 mins. drive away. There is also a lovely walk to the next small picturesque cove Alcalfar, which takes about 30 mins.
All in all a good modern hotel with friendly staff in a quiet and relaxing resort, would definitely return.

Yes sunbeds on punta Prima beach 19 euro for 2 beds and umbrella so not cheap ! Punta Prima is a lovely little place probably stayed there 10 times , some really nice restaurants. Stay clear of the takeaway bar just back of the beach 3 euro for a can of coke , go to supermarket 1 euro and the guy will take bottle top off your corona 😄enjoy
