Standing proudly against the backdrop of the majestic cliffs that give their name to the tranquil resort village of Los Gigantes ("The Giants"), the Royal Sun Resort is set on one of the cliffs' highest points, with unsurpassed views of the village, the charming marina, and the sea beyond. Quality is the hallmark of every aspect of the Royal Sun Resort, from the tasteful, designer-furnished apartments and the choice of on-site restaurants, to the level of the service offered by the friendly staff. Two swimming pools, one for children and one for adults, are set in the middle of the complex, with a sparkling waterfall flowing from one to the other and superb panoramic views from their surrounding sunbathing terraces. Next to the swimming pools is the pool bar "Oasis Abraxas", supplying the perfect refreshments to keep you cool whilst sunbathing. From elegant dining in "Aqua" restaurant, managed by Lucas Maes, one of the prestigious Canarian chefs, to thematic buffets in the sophisticated "Regency" restaurant with its splendid views, the range of restaurants within the complex serves every taste. For evening entertainment, try the impressive "Imperial" bar and lounge, complete with an entertainment area where regular shows take place. If you like a bit of activity, the modern gym and the aerobics room should keep you busy. One hundred and twenty apartments are spread over six floors, linked by corridors and lifts. There are studios, one-bedroom, two-bedrooms and three-bedrooms apartments, all spacious and comfortable with designer furnishings including air conditioning in lounge areas, satellite flat screen TV, direct dial telephone, free wifi, and a complete kitchen. The bathrooms have a walk in shower, or semi-circular bath and a window that looks out on to a mini cactus garden. Bedrooms have a double bed and doors opening onto a large private balcony or terrace, furnished with sun beds, a table, and chairs.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Big balconys with seaview, good beds and lots of hot water in the bathroom. Nice and friendly staff. We will come back. The walk back from town is a bit hard though - very steep hills

We stayed in this hotel over Christmas and new year. The room was very clean, well equipped and included a washing machine. The balcony was huge. The staff in reception were not the friendliest or most helpful we have come across. The reception area is dark and dingy. The restraunt and pool staff were very friendly and hard working. We would never stay here again purely because of the noise that echoed through the hotel and the screaming out of control children that were there. You cannot have a quiet break fast as the children play park is right next to the restaurant. Children were permitted to run around in the restaurant with plates in their hands, not one member of staff asked them to stop, its a serious accident waiting to happen. If you get a room on the fifth floor you will be directly below the rooms that have jacuzzis. The noise from these jacuzzis can be heard in the room and most of time, into early hours of the morning so sleep is out of the question. If you want a quiet holiday do not go here.

Stayed in this hotel for a week. Everything was very clean, the balcony was huge and it came with a jacuzzi (had to pay additional 30€ per day to use it, but it was worth it). There was a problem with our jacuzzi, however, because after it was filled, it was only 20 degrees and it took about 9 hours to warm up to 36 degrees. Luckily after warming up it kept the temperature it was set to. Also enjoyed that there was private parking available on site (once again - 7€ per day extra fee, but worth not searching for a spot every day). I do have to agree with some of the reviews saying the hotel was noisy - you could hear people talking, children running and screaming around on the lower floors as well as the sounds coming from the pool area. Luckily it didn't bother us much, as it was the noisiest around mid-day and really quiet in the evenings/at night (by that time we were probably the ones making the most noise, as almost every evening we stayed up late soaking in the jacuzzi, watching stars, netflix (on low volume) and talking). Loved that the room came with a fully equipped kitchen - it had everything you would need to self-cater (microwave/fridge/oven/utilities). The only downside was that there was no salt/pepper/cooking oil/coffee nor even dishwashing liquid or baking paper for the oven. So if you only want to cook one or two meals, keep that in mind. Many wonderful restaurants nearby - Restaurante Pizzeria Mamma Lucia, DomuMia (the place itself wasn't the prettiest, but stunning Italian food) and Casa Edu (if you like meat, you have to order the beef fillet). There are also Lidl and SuperDino shops close to the hotel. All in all - a very pleasant and wonderful stay, would definitely like to visit again in the future.

This was our 4th visit to Royal Sun, as we love the views, cleanliness and size of apartments. These obviously have not changed but service definitely has. I emailed asking 2 questions (not requests) regarding what changes were in place , if any…no response. I asked reception in person,if they could quote us on a return visit in September…still waiting. Stand out members of staff were cleaners. They were the only ones who smiled, acknowledged and greeted you. The rest of team seemed they couldn’t care less if you were the there or not. Show cooking chef wouldn’t cook a piece of steak well done on request…just pointed to medium pre cooked piece. I’ve also noticed the hotel no longer responds to comments on here, customer service?? Would I go again? A really tough one. We love the room, pool, view and area, it’s the service that lets it down now. Depends on what’s more important to you. The price doesn’t reflect a ‘platinum’ hotel anymore unfortunately.

Had a lovely holiday here. Had a small problem with special diet requirements but this was completely resolved. Special deserts were made. Alternative milks purchased. Nothing was too much trouble. All the staff went out of their way to make sure we had the best holiday. From reception to pool staff, restaurant and housekeeping. Loved the pool always immaculately clean. There was limited entertainment -because of Covid - but what there was was excellent. Fantastic large terrace to lounge out on overlooking the sea. Magical.
