Just returned from 1 weeks holiday to this hotel. Absolutely excellent, don't be put off by 3 stars, it really is a 5 star family run hotel. Clean, comfortable, excellent breakfast and evening meals. Beautiful view of the bay. I recommend room 208, its got the best view. The guy on reception is absolutely fabulous, happy, helpful and very welcoming. You will not be disappointed with this small, personal, adults only hotel. Cannot recommend it more highly.
This small adults only hotel was just what we needed for a few days in Menorca. Check-in was quick and we were shown to our room. There is no lift, but it's not needed as there are only two storeys on the hotel. Room: pool view with a nice sized balcony. Great air-conditioning. The bed was hard but it was so comfortable and slept really well. There was a little fridge and tea/coffee area which was refilled daily. Housekeeping work really hard and our room was cleaned daily to perfection. Food: breakfast was good. Freshly cut fruits, cereals, juices and pastries. Coffee machine was accessible and could choose from different coffees. We booked dinner in the restaurant one of the nights. The view was spectacular and looked down on the beach. Food and service was nice. Pool: fantastic. Nice size that gets the sun all day. Not that many sunbeds but enough when people were using them when needed. There were no sunbed wars so whenever we went to the pool, there was a spot for us. The hotel keeps things very simple but I actually loved this. It's family run and very relaxed. …
Came here at the end of May for 5 days for a much needed break. This hotel owner , his daughter and staff are very friendly and helpful . The hotel is spotlessly clean and has immaculate facilities. Loved the decor in the restaurant area. A pool area that was very quiet with plenty of sun beds. Beautiful terrace to sit and have a drink while looking down at the bay. Bedrooms have everything you need and again spotlessly clean. Ideal location as right in the middle of town with its own restaurant and bar. Breakfast had many choices such as fruit, pastries and eggs&bacon. Also with a good selection of drinks. We were sad to leave so came home and have booked for August to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Would totally recommend so much so my work colleague has booked a break there after seeing my holiday photos!…
This adults only hotel is located in a quieter corner of Calan Porter overlooking the bay. Friendly staff. Lovely clean and modern rooms. Great shower and some rooms have very good views of the bay. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices including eggs and bacon as well as fresh fruit, pastries and cereals. Breakfast on the terrace is a must. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Nice pool and sun beds. Short walk down the steps to the bay but coming back up them is hard! We will definitely come back here again although in the height of summer you can expect this medium size hotel to be much busier. It could easily be a four star with just very few changes.
We spent a lovely weekend in this hotel. It was impeccably clean and very close to a beautiful sandy beach. Both the owner and the staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. Plenty of food options for breakfast. For those who like hiking, the hotel is very close to the Cami de Cavalls. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
We came after 18 months of safeguarding, and had a very enjoyable three week stay in October. The view of the bay is great. The staff were scrupulous about cleaning, mask and social distance Covid precautions. Maja went out of her way to take care of us. Roberto was always on hand, and Franca is an excellent cook. Sylvia was extremely cheerful every day. It is an excellent small hotel (only 26 rooms), and is probably three star because it does not have things such as spa facilities. The food was very good, although after two weeks the menu, understandably, became a bit familiar. We would definitely return.
Hotel Sal Barrera in late September/early October, is an oasis of tranquility while folk try and figure out pandemics. The entire operation is gracious, caring and sincere about making their guests feel welcome and secure as they take the right precautions in these strange times. Currently the owners and staff are doing their best to adjust to the “new normal” of travel, and all made a point of trying to get to know theirs guests - even while some had limited English language backgrounds…thank you to our “Nona” on our last (early) morning :) And while the young gentleman who serves breakfast, did yeoman service plating the cakes and watermelon and chocolate croissants every day, there was one person who we found really made our stay special. When you get to meet Maja you’ll know what we mean. An exceptional talent who somehow manages to be everywhere at once. At any rate, Cala En Porter is slowly emerging from the pandemic and this was a very quiet week. Not sure what it would be like if things get crowded once again, but the beauty is undeniable and the hospitality is fantastic.…
The view from this hotel is unbeatable, the staff is super friendly and helpful, and the food was great. The only downside is that the bed is hard as a rock. I know that is a preference thing and some people like that, so I won't drop the review a star for that, but I just wanted to advise people of the same if that is important to you or would affect your decision. That said, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!
We stayed at this hotel for one week and had half board. The view from the restaurant is amazing and the stuff is really friendly. Especially Maja was doing a really great job at this hotel! The italian food was good, we didn‘t regret having chosen half board! The room was small but you have everything you need and it‘s clean! The hotel was paying everywhere attention to the covid safety and protection procedures. We can definitely recommand this hotel.
We enjoyed a lot our stay at Sa Barrera: the structure is located in Cala en Porter: one of the most beautiful beach of Menorca, near to the airport and not far from the main attractions. The room are functionally furnished, very very comfortable and clean. The owner Roberto and his staff were very helpful and kind, a special compliment to the restaurant: we had the half board and the plates were always freshly cooked (not frozen stuff) and very high quality ingredients! this combined with the beautiful view from the terrace: directly on Cala en Porter! Simply beautiful.
