We arranged a 6-night stay using vouchers we’d purchased, and upgraded to the wheelchair accessible apartment. Accessibility was excellent with a ramp outside, wide doorways and an enormous wet room. The kitchen had everything we needed for the 2 of us. The loch view was a bit limited as the apartment is in the coach house but it was easy to get to the hotel terrace to see the beautiful panorama. It was wonderfully quiet, peaceful and relaxing. There was no problem getting sufficient bottled water from reception, and the continental breakfast was plentiful, even supplying gluten free bread for my wife. I wasn’t well enough to drive home as the end of our stay approached, and the staff were fantastic, arranging an extra 5 nights in suitable accommodation, including organising a change of all linen. When the time came to settle our bill we were astonished at the excellent price that had been arranged for the extra nights. Our stay was everything we could have wanted, and we’re already considering our next dates to holiday there. Thank you to everyone who looked after us!

Hotel's Favourite
We have just had 4 nights in a very spacious, comfortable and warm 1 bedroom lodge with a view over the loch and to the snowy mountains. The area is stunning. The hotel conservatory serves an excellent standard of food, and very good coffee. The staff are so helpful and welcoming. Loads to do in the area if being overwhelmed by the Magnificence of the scenery isn’t enough. Can’t wait to go and stay again.

We have given this hotel 5 stars as we believe the staff absolutely deserve it. Yes the building is old but it has character. Our room was comfortable, had everything we needed and had an amazing view over the Loch. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, they accommodated our request for and early breakfast one day as we were heading off up Ben Nevis, they even made us lunch to take with us. The menu was a little limited but this was not their fault, it's all down to COVID but what we had was absolutely lovely. In fact, there are certain things I am unable to eat so the menu was even more limited for me but it was not a problem, I was able to choose what I could eat off the menu and the chef was happy to make up a meal for me of my choice. We would definitely return and would recommend others to stay. Everyone was super friendly, super helpful and just a pleasure to get to know. Keep up the good work!!

This is really an old hotel and that adds to the character of it, although there is a serious mix of styles and overall it felt a little bit strange. It has the most amazing views over the loch to Cruachan, a spacious terrace and a restaurant that looks onto the water. The restaurant experience for us was like we were 2nd class as we ended up eating in what seemed like a less "luxurious " part although next morning for breakfast we ate in the "luxurious part" but in fact it felt the same. Dinner wasnt cheap but not well cooked - my wife's haddock and chips was Ok but the batter wasnt great and my chicken and haggis (some version of chicken balmoral or chicken culloden or whatever) looked like it had been reheated - it was dry and tough. Thankfully the separate small jug of gravy helped it down just a little. The bedroom we had smelled foosty to start with but was well decorated although the cold tap in the bath didnt work without some fiddling. In fact the tap wasnt connected to the valve. I reported it next morning but we were leaving then so no idea if it was ever fixed. The hotel could be great and could capitalise on its perfect location but for me this was a "could do better" rating

Hi, thank you for your review and glad you appreciated the age of the hotel (19th Century) along with enjoying the location and the views. Regarding the rooms there is a slight foosty smell due to the fogging liquid we have to use and we have tried alternative liquids, all with the same result. We appreciate you reporting the tap as we do have a full team of maintenance and housekeeping on site so any issues can normally be fixed immediately as we have to keep a stock of spare supplies on site being in the location we are in. I will pass your comments onto our Chef as this is not the normal Feedback for him so apologies you did not enjoy your dinner. Once again, thank you for your helpful comments.

Enjoyed my stay, staff friendly - 5 stars as I think some of the other reviews are over exaggerated and very picky, wanted the staff to feel positive Yes you do have to wait, but you wait everywhere, yes some things decor wise could be improved, but you can see it is happening Did have a relaxing stay and felt safe Hope to return one day
