We stayed in Percy Cottage for 1 week in the summer holidays and, like the previous reviewer, felt that website papered over the cracks. Yes, there are stunning views (certainly from one window), and the interior is tastefully furnished, reasonably well equipped and spacious with 2 bathrooms. But we encountered various imperfections: 1. although clean, the property was generally a...

Beautiful location, great views and were obviously originally a careful and well done conversion. They do need some redecoration, and whilst the kitchen and bathroom fittings were good quality some of the furniture in ours was poor. There was also a real mould problem around the windows and skirting boards in the master bedroom, with part of the wood rotted....

The cottages have alovely location overlooking the golf course adjacent the lovely town of Rothbury. The cottage provides all you need but if max occupancy is in place then space in the living areas is very tight particularly for dining. Lovely kitchen, but average contents and any meals beyond basic might well be a struggle. Plenty of places to eat...

Ideal for families, couples and even a girls weekend. These cottages are luxury. Ideal location with fantastic views and over looking the golf course. We have stayed many times...during the winter autum spring and summer. More recently our stray in January 2013 was idyllic with all the snow. There are many beautiful walks in the gorgeous countryside of Rothbury. The...

Having booked in early November for a New Years get away I must admit I was a bit worried if we had made the right choice after looking at 2 of the earlier posts, but having just spent 4 nights at the Hotspur cottage, I am in full agreement with the last reviewer….it was great!! The cottages are well fitted...

I would recommend Anyone visiting Northumberland to look at staying at Carterside. Beautifull countryside followed by the picturesque town of Rothbury makes it a very appealing country retreat. As for the cottage itself, we are very impressed with the high standard of finish throughout. The wood burning stove & large bath were the perfect combination for a tranquil weekend. As...

The location of the cottages is good for visitors to Northumberland. The cottages are well designed and aesthetically pleasing. However it is a pity that the additional items are of poor quality eg towels, cutlery, cooking implements etc. The management of the cottages is dire. On arrival there was no welcome - key is under the step The can opener...

Rothbury is a lovely place and Carterside Cottages is a good location. What a shame the owners don't try out their own cottages. Equipped to a high standard the devil is in the detail. The front door had swollen and scaped the floor making entry and exit unpleasant. The dining table was too large and couldn't be used without being...
