I emailed the hotel before I wrote this review, they didn't reply. This Hotel looks very nice, scratch under the surface though and its mediocre at best. No toiletries in the room. No spare pillows. No biscuits, yes you read that NO BISCUITS. Bed uncomfortable. Staff not friendly. Pizza was burnt, pasta was uncooked. Breakfast was okish, not a buffet...

The coquetvale hotel is in the perfect spot for exploring beautiful Northumberland and Kielder. The room was large and clean, the cooked breakfast was lovely and the staff were warm and helpful. We ate in the restaurant and it was freshly cooked and tasty. Me and my husband were originally booked to come and stay in November but I was...

Me and my girlfriend spent a couple of nights here relaxing between Xmas and New year. In my own opinion this hotel is close to faultless. It is clear that there has been a significant amount of money spent on the place, as the public areas especially, are beautiful. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and loved...

We had an evening meal which was reasonably priced and extremely good quality. The breakfast was also delicious and freshly cooked. We have bookd again and look forward to our next visit. Excellent value for...

We booked the Coquetvale Hotel as a late decision stay as our daughter and friends were staying in Rothbury. We had a warm welcome, check in was quick and pleasant and we were soon shown to our very comfy and clean room. We didn't eat at the restaurant in the evening so can't comment. We slept well with no problems....

Really disappointed our stay here. The Chef had been very lazy in the preparation of our evening meal. The watercress haven't been prepped properly and had woody stalks, there was a piece of cartilage found in the chicken pate, there were fishbones in the fillet of sea bass and the pizza dough was very undercooked, so much so that it...

Nice hotel near the river and shops in Rothbury. All the staff were very pleasant and the food was lovely with big portions. The only thing was not being informed about breakfast times which we found out over hearing another guest asking.

We learnt, when we found a member of staff, that they had taken over this hotel in August and it's interesting to note that the vast majority of low scoring reviews are from before this period. However some points just keep cropping up.....like the unstaffed reception - Coquetvale get yourselves a bell - it would be so much better than...
