We were given a weekend voucher for The Queens Head as a present. On arrival we were greeted and shown to our room very promptly and politely. At the booking stage I had asked for a room on the first floor as my partner has mobility problems and difficulty with stairs and we were already aware that there was no...

Wow Peter, that was a lovely review, so pleased you enjoyed your stay and that you intend to visit in the spring, it is a lovely little town so keep in touch for special offers for returning guests. Stayed on Wowcher deal. Excellent value for money. Located in lovely village, central for exploring both Kielder & Coastal areas. Very old fashioned in appearance and yes in need of some facelifting in places, but cosy and good food. Room clean, plenty of space and storage. Some road noise as premises direct onto main road through village...but didn’t disturb us...

Staff were very pleasant and helpful food was great and choice was good too, Room was warm and cosy and clean. Breakfast had a good selection and we wanted for nothing they used their own sausages made on the premises and the menu for evening meal was varied with extra specials added each night.

We stayed here for one night one way to Scotland. On a wet Sunday night, first impressions were not brilliant, but our room was very clean and well appointed for a nights stay. The bed was comfortable, shower room spotless and adequate. The bar staff were very friendly, as were the locals. But the best thing was the food, which...

First the positives, The restaurant food was excellent, as was the breakfast and also the breakfast room was laid out beautifully. The staff were pleasant and friendly. But, what is most important to an overnight stay is the bed. The mattress was appauling. The springs had gone, and I had to fold a towel up to fill the dip to...

I am so sorry about the shower, the pump had gone and that's what was making all the noise, brand new shower in now. There is of course a bath also. I have also ordered a new mattress, although I must say you are the first people to complain about it, but it has collapsed so new one on the...

I have stayed at the Queens Head previously with my husband, but this time I brought 5 of my walking friends for an overnight stay. Everyone was most impressed with their rooms and totally enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant. Some were planning to return with their husbands! Very friendly service, efficient and welcoming. The Queens Head is on the main street in Rothbury and has its own parking facilities. We stayed there as we were attending a wedding in Rothbury. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Some of the rooms had been recently updated. Although my own room had not been, it was still warm, clean and comfortable. It had a shower with...
