As a wheelchair user I was pleased to see they have disabled rooms - I think they have at least two. The room we were allocated is at ground floor level (I suspect the hotel has no elevators) and faced onto the gardens that are at the front of the hotel. I would say the room is adequate. For me in a wheelchair, so bringing my own seat, no problems - for my wife no comfortable seating. No door, just a curtain, into the bathroom (which is adapted well). Space - is just enough any smaller and we would have struggled and this is not a long stay room. The real negative is that it's a dark room with just one window to the front which is under a covered walkway and looks out onto the main entrance/front gardens of the Hotel and Restaurant so if you have the curtains open and lights on (which are needed) you're in a goldfish bowl! We only had one night as a quick get away and our focus was the restaurant so all in all it worked!

Let's get the tops out of the way at once, ie superb restaurant (with a delicious, affordable daily dinner special, plus a very nice breakfast offering), and a beautiful, brand new spa which I unfortunately had no time to check out. So I will absolutely go back but a few things surprised me: staff, while helpful, were a bit grumpy-looking (or is it shy?), to the point where I started wondering about the general level of management and work happiness at this place. Also, you have to LOVE red, my room was full of it, and it hurts the eye after a while. This was not helped by the lighting, very aggressive, white ceiling spot lights everywhere, including right on top of my bed (ouch!) with no stand-up, dimmer lamps for night reading. My bathroom also had a persistent post-shower stench, but in all honestly I flagged it up only on departure after a 3-day stay, so perhaps it's fixed already, but it is still surprising for a hotel of this level. Lastly, the small bar/lounge area, where I worked several hours in a row, really deserves a more comfortable couch or two. Lovely grounds, and of course vineyards and nice villages all-around. So again I will go back, but some things could be easily fixed (Note: I stayed in one of the cheaper rooms and visited a Premium one, which looked stunning ... no more red!).

Hotel quite near to mainline trains which you can hear late into the night/ early morning. Other than that very tranquil. Nice inside/outside pool area with sun-loungers and gardens with seating and sun-loungers. Restaurant serves some tasty local dishes at reasonable pricing. Seating is outside on the patio overlooking the gardens, or in air conditioned room. Restaurant is a short outside walk from reception desk - so if it does rain take an umbrella. Bathroom was clean and functional but had an enormous sink for the size of the room so made it difficult to get around (sink was more than half the depth of the room). Room had iron and ironing board, and hairdryer, some water and glasses, but as is common in France no kettle /tea/coffee.

Lovely grounds, great area, friendly and helpful staff. I look forward to returning. The young woman at reception, Marie, was especially helpful in seeing that we got a room we were comfortable in as we had arrived late in the afternoon and I had inadvertently booked a smaller room than I wanted. The food at both breakfast and dinner was delicious. Next time I visit, I will bring my bathing suit so I can enjoy the pool.

Staying at this hotel was a great experience. The service, the hotel and the food was excellent, and we were very satisfied with it. We were recommended to stay at Les Maritonnes by a friend, and we have already recommended it to others.
