Arriving without sleep for 36 hours and umpteen time zone changes and 3 airline flights one after the other, was not the ideal point to start a visit to Scotland.
The decision to stay at Connel rather than Oban just down the road was a...More
We stopped here for a meal, on the way home, after a weekend away.
We both ordered the roast beef, which came with dijon mash and heritage carrots. I asked if I could just have ordinary potatoes, as I'm not keen on mash. This was...More
We just stayed one night before catching a ferry to the Isle of Mull. It was very comfortable. We particularly liked the fact that there was plenty of room with comfortable chairs and sofas to sit, chat and read. There are some lovely antique pieces...More
Stayed here for two nights.
The accommodation was first class and I would thoroughly recommend it.
On the other hand the restaurant was "good in parts". On evening one I asked our waitress what was CrispyChicken "Inner" Fillets, reply "chicken fillets". Why call them "inner...More

Hi David had 2 great holidays last 2 years in your fabulous country but jeez these flights!!!. Both above suggestions are good for pit stops. Luss is about a quarter of the way there, Tyndrum about half the way there and has a wide range of facilities but not the charm of Luss. Depending how tired you feel and when you stop there is another place on the A85 quite a bit after Tyndrum called Inverewe Smokehouse signposted off main road. Delightful home baking in a lovely setting with some short walks available to stretch your legs. Enjoy your holiday
