Safari Village was amazing. The hotel common spaces are incredibly charming - almost out of a Wes Anderson movie. The staff couldn't have been more gracious. They were cheerful, helpful and friendly without being at all overbearing. They seamlessly arranged a wonderful safari for us and had a giant, delicious breakfast ready immediately upon our return. The dinner menu is...

This page is a duplicate listing. It is also listed as "Safari Village Hotel" (https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g674587-d6825661-Reviews-Safari_Village_Hotel-Uda_Walawe_National_Park.html) This is not in the Uda Walawe National Park as the address misleadingly claims. It is quite a distance from the Park and is closer to the Elephant Transit home but neither are within walking distance. There are many other hotels that are much closer...

We had a slight issue with arriving at the hotel because we were taking a bus which ended up being VERY delayed. We called the hotel to let them know that we were going to be arriving late, around 11pm, and they said it was okay, but when we arrived the security gate was closed and there was nobody to...

Hotel was almost completely empty due to it being off season. The manager set up a safari for us at Udawalawe which is very close by and the pool there was nice. Food at the restaurant was pretty good as well.

We were taken here after our other hotel was full but it was run by very friendly staff and the food was brilliant. Great pool and central to the safari park. They also arranged travel to Ella. It had a really old style colonial feel to it and was excellent value for money

Great place, simple and clean rooms. The best bed in Sri Lanka I slept in! Good, attentive staff, clean pool. Good food, the kids enjoyed it. 15 minutes drive from the park. Highly recommendable. Wifi in the lobby .

After our previous accommodation this place was really good, with comfortable clean rooms and excellent air conditioning. Good meals too with a decent menu to choose from. Has a good swimming pool, nice gardens to relax in and easy access to the national park. Has WiFi available in the reception area which was very handy.

I've read some of the reviews and it seems to be a little bit hit and miss which if we had read them before we might have been put off from staying there However we stayed there for the one night and we had a really enjoyable stay. The hotels in Uda walawe as stated in the Lonley planet are...

Excellent stay. Helpful staff who were keen to assist with a safari tour. Clean and basic room and good pool. safari was good but don't expect to see wild cats! uda walawe is worth a trip if Galla is closed. Need transport via car or tuc-tuc to reach this one. Views are spectacular. Food was super.
