It was amazing!!! We absolutely can recommend this place. Memo and Mickey, the owners, are very lovable and this mood you can feel all over the place. The area is calm and very pleasant because of all the trees and palmtrees, which give you shadow...More

A very good and affordable place to stay in San Agustinillo. Very clean and the staff/owner are very good at helping out in things to do and where to shop. we were there for 3 days and used their communal kitchen a few times. I...More

This was our second time at the Bambu and we just love it! We asked for the same room -- the Palapa -- which has a private balcony and loft area facing the ocean. Perfect! Aside from the wonderful beach view and great people who...More

We are travelling to Oaxaca this Nov and are thinking of staying at Bambu in a 1st floor room; looks like it may be cooler than the ground floor rooms with the options of opening the doors at night while you sleep. We have been enchanted by its rustic charm, quiet and oh so beautiful beach and excellent reviews, but we're a little worried it might be more like a hostel/backpackers than a hotel. Is this the case or am I overthinking it? We were also looking at some of the other hotels nearby that had a pool. Did anyone miss having a swimming pool to dip in after a day on the beach? Lastly, can anyone recommend any places to eat near by? From looking at a map it looks like there are more food options in Zipolite, is this easy to walk to or are there enough places in San Agustinillo to satisfy drink and dinner options throughout the day? We've opted for San Agustinillo instead of Zipolite as a base as it's quieter and looks like it might be better for swimming. Be good to hear your thoughts! Thanks so much!
