The service at this place is absolutely awful. I understand that this is a pension and that it is family run. But for the price they charge, you're better off adding a few bucks and getting way better service elsewhere. Expect to be treated like an 8 year old by the elderly ponytailed receptionist, he'll chastise you for not reading...

Pension stay was great, entering this place you can feel it is very well maintained and clean, the boss welcomed us with a warm laughter and proved extremely useful during the whole stay. The Onsen is great, spacious and there is even a Sauna!

Not flexible in hospitality as we arrived during their cleaning time and were not even allowed us to store our luggages inside the apartments. We also experienced hot water problems and the owner just put all the blame on guests accusing us of the improper use. Of course all instructions are in Japanese and it is normal for us not...

Twin room was relatively small for two. It would have been better for one person. Typical bed roll on on the floor set up. Toilet and small shower in the room Place is a warren of corridors and staircases. This is not helpful when having to move heavy bags. No service lift. Ski storage down outside staircase to basement room....

The room size was decent, which is already very good in Japan. The check-in time is from 3-6pm. We arrived around 2pm and was refused check-in. We had to go somewhere else and go back again later. There were not too many guests that night, probably only us and another Japanese couple (they went there to play golf). The dinner...

I was booked here when my travel was extended to allow more skiing. The hotel is ok but to be honest it's not much better then ok. If you are looking for a bed to sleep inbetween trips down the pist then this place is going to be fine. If you are looking for a nice "pampered" hotel experience then...

Pension Furanui in Furano is a more humble affair than the large resort hotels and apartments on offer, but at this price, what does one expect. You get a traditional japanese pension - this time with its own shower and WC - albeit a very small shower and WC. The room was barely big enough for two blokes and ski...

The European exterior of the pension is quite impressive but the interior is getting a worn look with a lingering smell of cigarettes. The rooms are small and basic and I agree with the other reviewer - try to get one that is on the ground floor or you will end up having to haul your luggage upstairs with no...

We were shock to learn that the apartment unit we have booked for was located on the 4 floor without any lift. We need to carry our heavy luggages and climb 4 storeys high. When we finally arrived, we were even more displeased to learn that it is not air-conditioned. It was Summer time and the weather was very hot...

Pension Furanui is located right at the base of the Kitanomine ski area and gondola station. There are frequent shuttle buses running between the pension and the gondola station during the winter. The pension is about 10 minutes by car from the JR Furano Station. I took the Lavender-Go bus and got off at the Kisen station. The pension was...

“We wanted to have a Japanese style room but didn't get it. The western style room was decent in size, but with two very small single beds only.”
