My wife and I had an extremely enjoyable stay at Bryn Elltyd on an all too brief visit to Snowdonia, primarily to spend a day adventuring at the Zip World site at Blaenau Ffestinniog. John and Celia were great hosts who made us very welcome; lighting a log burner and providing tea and fruit cake when we first arrived. They... More

Really enjoyable visit and ideally located for visiting Bounce Below or Zip World. Only 20 minutes from Port Meireon and Porthmadog. Beautiful location. Excellent hosts who were friendly and informative without being in your face all the time. Accommodation was clean . Breakfast was excellent quality - will definitely be visiting again.

This was my first visit, but my husband has been before. Delightful little B&B, with a wonderful garden for the kids to explore. I really liked the little upstairs conservatory, where the family could meet on an evening. Breakfast was great, the hosts were very friendly. Carbon free too! I recommend a visit to the café over the road. It's... More

This is my second visit here, and it won't be my last. This time I was sharing a twin room with my mother while my uncle had his own single room. The same warm welcome and warm building awaits, though I didn't get as much chance to talk to John as last time because I was busy. The breakfast remains... More

Wonderful sleep. The beds are lovely, and the breakfast is truly device and delicious. The owners are really friendly. Also, the view of the suriunding hills, mountains, and the passing steam train, make the place a truly one of a kind welsh paradise. Well worth staying there, to get way for some peace and relaxation in North Wales.

Initially selected because of the electric vehicle charge points to recharge my car and it's convenience for Snowdonia, was quickly won over by the infectious enthusiasm of John and Ceilia for their eco-centric home. John kindly gave my son and I a short walking tour of the local area, describing its long history of innovation and development, along with a... More

I reviewed Bryn Elltyd in 2014 and have just returned from another visit/s. I like the Eco friendly aspect of the B&B and everything is great from the rooms to the breakfast, views, and friendly hosts. If you have an electric car - there are charge points there for that ! Breakfast is huge & I'm pretty sure you could... More

My family & I really love staying at Bryn Elltyd, where Celia & John Whitehead are wonderful hosts. The Guest House is always warm & cosy, the shower water always hot, breakfasts including home-made bread always excellent. The bedrooms are comfortable, & all enjoy really dramatic views This is the perfect centre for exploring the fascinating remains of the Slate... More

This guest house is in a spectacular location and is run by people who are fascinating to talk to and who run a very comfortable and efficient b&b. the breakfast is also very good. The ecological aspect adds an extra dimension which is very informative, and the price is in the lowest orange (£45 for me for the night)

It feels hard to give only a 2 for this guest house but there is some I feel is vital that attention is given to. This is the horendous smell of damp/mould/ mildew in our outside room. It was very strong, worst near the corner of the bedroom where I slept so much so that it woke me a few... More
