It was clean and functional and reasonably priced. However, the owner was not friendly. Service at breakfast was poor. The beds were bouncy and uncomfortable. Wireless didn't work in my room only in the corridor. I would not recommend it.

Booked this as we were due to catch the early ferry - Let us in early to get out of the rain, room was clean and comfortable. No availability to stay the extra night required [because of ferry cancellation] as family had birthday party.

The owner was kind enough to let us leave our bags in the room early, but he wasn't very friendly. The sunroom downstairs was nice. The room was clean and comfortable with a view, but the bed linen was a bit musty. We appreciated the discount seeing we had to get an early ferry so weren't having breakfast.Handy for the...

First impressions are rather basic but clean and spacious. Owner seemed to prefer cleaning his BBQ than greeting us. Lovely position by the sea. It felt rather lonely rather than as the website suggests ‘homely’. Room comfortable. Owner polite but not over friendly, decent enough breakfast and money taken off bill for the second night as we had to catch...

We stayed here for 2 nights, room was lovely and spacious. Brekkie was good and filling. Very close to ferry which was very handy. We wanted to watch football on night we arrived and he gave us a good recommendation for food. Was very welcoming when we arrived off the ferry. Would stay here again.

Stayed here with my wife on the first night of a cycling trip to the Outer Hebredies. We were greeted in the pouring rain by a slightly grumpy owner who said "You'll have to leave your bikes outside". Not really a problem. We were shown into the house and then out again to a sort-of summer house which was our...

I stayed here with Christine and Roddy for one night because the hotel that is usually booked for me on my work trips was full. I happen to know them and their family through another connection and they are the most delightful and kindest people you could ever wish to meet. Barra Island is a super-friendly place in general and...

My friend and I stayed at Bayview Guesthouse for two nights, and cannot recommend it enough. It's close to the ferry, even without a car. We booked a taxi from the ferry since we arrived quite late and the weather was bad, but it's a 20 minute walk. The rooms are nice and cosy, and the breakfast was really great.

Beds are absolutely comfy, Roddy and Christine are very friendly and easy to talk to. Stay there every time I go to Barra, brilliant things to do, great food as well. Great view of the water, not far away from the ferry terminal either Well done Christine and Roddy xx
