This was our third visit to Monrecour. Since our last visit in 2013, the new owners have lavished much time and money on landscaping and the hotel grounds now look well cared for and are a pleasure to walk around. This hotel is very highly recommended. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The free bottles of mineral water are a...

We stayed for 2 nights as part of a Headwater multi activity holiday. The setting is beautiful, the rooms were both gorgeous & the pool clean & a good size with comfortable furniture. There is a main terrace & 2 smaller ones where you can sit outside in peace & comfort plus a sitting room. Breakfast was excellent, although I...

We recently stayed in this hotel. It is in a scenic location, just outside of Beynac. It is an attractive property, with well-maintained grounds. The staff are excellent. The rooms are comfortable. The room rate was fair. We enjoyed our stay.

The chateau looks great from a distance and the grounds are well tended and have obviously had money spent on them recently. My girlfreind and I just felt the 150 euro per night was just far more than it deserves. We booked the charm room and it was just very tired and dated. There may well be better rooms which...

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us on tripadvisor. Most of our guests are fans of the original baroque decorations in the 20 m² measuring Charm Room. I am sorry to read that it is not your personal taste. The rooms in the annex building are about 15m² and they have a different style of...

This property had recently changed ownership and staff when I visited last month but the new personnel were fully up to speed. I had driven on back roads from Rodez in a less touristed part of the Southwest and after passing the throngs in La Rogue Gageac and Beynac I was ready to turn around and go back. Happily I...

We were really surprised by this hidden gem. A beautiful castle and premises, which is also said to be a nice hotel. We went there just for dinner; after reading guide Michelin and tripadvisor reviews. Although the diningroom had a somewhat sterile atmosphere to it; service was warm and friendly. We are a 3 course menu for 39€pp, which was absolutely...

The Chateau de Monrecour is an absolute jewel. The hotel rooms are comfortable and beautifully appointed. The en-suites are clean and modern. The public rooms are oak panelled and a joy to sit in and read or play games. The guests were delightful (new friends from Quebec and Bordeaux made in one night!) and the staff could not have been...

A wonderful Chateau, rooms spacious and airy, great views from our chambre and well appointed. Great shower after a day of walkng. Especially enjoyable was the tea facility provided. We are on a gastronomic walk of the Dordogne region and arrived at this magnificently restored chateau. Our room was large and really well appointed, the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and the food was out of this world. This is how a hotel should be run. We would HIGHLY RECOMMEMD this beautiful place to stay.
