We’ve stayed 3 nights at the Chura in Chaweng, it’s at the quieter northern end of the beach but only 10 mins walk to the bars / restaurants and about 15-20 mins walk to central Chaweng (the really loud bars and shopping mall). The hotel is fairly modern affair with polished concrete walls and floors in the rooms which are well proportioned with nice bathrooms, the staff are attentive and welcoming but the hotel feels very ‘functional’ there’s no identity or soul to the place, can’t really put my finger on it but I’d find it very hard to recommend as a base, there are many other places which look equally nice and have more of an identity ( check out OP Bungalows for style and a good breakfast). The pool area is ok with sun beds facing the sea (a jet ski rental has located right on the beach in front of the hotel which is a little annoying), the tide comes in stopping access to the beach left side of the hotel. On the beach is a nice reggae music bar about 100m to the right good atmosphere serving food, drink and decent music. Overall Chaweng town was a bit to commercial and touristy with loud bars and pick up trucks playing announcements at 120db+, if I was still on 18-30 holidays I’d have loved.…
I’ve just had another amazing stay at Chura Samui Resort in Chaweng. I was welcomed home by the warm and friendly smiling reception team as soon as I arrived. The check-in process was seamless and very prompt. I'd originally booked a Deluxe room which I spent my first night in and then was given an upgrade by the manager to a 1 Bedroom Studio Suite which was a very nice surprise. The Deluxe rooms are spacious and very clean with a very comfortable bed, great facilities and amenities, super strong air conditioning, and wifi. It had a great-sized balcony/deck area which overlooked the grounds and an internal Japanese garden. This was great for relaxing after a long day. The 1 Bedroom Studio Suite is even more amazing with a patio with deck chairs, seperate lounge/tv area and wardrobe space. From here you enter the large bedroom with an extra large super comfortable bed with mosquito netting, air-con and wifi. The bathroom is an enormous space which is indoor/outdoor with double vanity area, seperate toilet and shower and large free standing bathtub. The pool is spectacular and a great size with plenty of sunbeds for guests to use with nice views of the sea, it also gets plenty of sun for most of the day. The breakfast and restaurant were really nice with a great spread every morning. The coffee was also very good. Overall Chura Samui Resort is a fantastic little find. It has everything you need from great room comforts, pool, service, amazing staff, reasonable rates and a perfect location not to far from the hustle of busy Chaweng. Thank you to the team for making my 2nd stay at Chura Samui Resort so welcoming. I will definitely be back to stay when I return to Samui :)…
The Chura Samui hotel was such a great experience that I am planning on returning as soon as possible. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were all very kind and accommodating, especially Prisana who went out of her way to make my stay enjoyable. The setup of the hotel is excellent, I sat in the chairs by the beach every sunrise, just steps from my room. Can't wait to return when I am in Thailand next!
Enjoyed my stay at Chura Samui. The pros were the pool and the staff in the bar. The breakfast was also okey. The cons were the smell we had in our first room and also in the 2 others we got offered. Smelled like they haven't used the rooms for a while and the receptionist admitted that it was mold in the roof. It was also quite a long way in to central Chaweng from the hotel. We didn't mind though and you can also take taxi. The hotel is close to the airport with taxi aswell.
Fabulous resort minutes away from the airport. Staff wonderfully helpful. Breakfast was great. The pool is beautiful and bar staff friendly. You can walk along the beach to other bars and restaurants. We enjoyed a few cocktails on the swings at ‘the place’.
Our family of four have just returned from a 9-night stay at this lovely hotel. Located at the quieter northern end of Chaweng beach allowing complete rest and relaxation. The hotel is modern in design but within a wonderful natural setting between trees, tropical plants and palm trees. It is on the smaller and more intimate side and all the better for it. The service is wonderful and you soon get to know all staff members. The large pool is right on the beach with an adjacent bar that serves the best fruit shakes. There are lots of food places and bars within walking distance ranging from cheap beachside options to 5-star restaurants. 20 minute walk to the main strip along the road or access to the full length of Chaweng beach along the sand. Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful stay.…
Stayed here July 2022 Very friendly staff . The pool is fantastic overlooking the beach and ocean . Probably a good 15-20 walk into town but good facilities across the road . Would definitely return .
We asked to change rooms and were quickly and easily changed with no charges. Pool is lovely and bungalows are nice. Particular thanks to Eve at reception who was amazing and so helpful with all of our many many questions about Koh Samui.
excellent service, staff very friendly, quite and peaceful. Breakfast was the best. Amaziing location and walking distance to downtown or by Tuk Tuk. Highly recommend this place who needs peace and quite at a budget
Nice smaller resort. Good size of Rooms with own terrace or balcony. terrace of Rooms on the Ground Floor mainly very close to the ways across the Resort. This might be a lack of privacy. However, there are rooms with a bit more distance to the way (about 2-5 meter). The resort is not that old, but due to weather circumstances, it might smell a bit musty inside the room. Quite good breakfast. The variety of cheese and sausage is quite low (1 type each). Staff around the resort is very friendly and endeavored. Nice pool with direct view to the ocean. Note that resort is about 15-20 minutes’ walk to the high spots of Chaweng beach, but it is quite easy to get a car outside for not that much fee. The ocean is not recommended for swimming or snorkeling. First 200-300 meters are just about 1.50m depth and not that clean (inside the water). So it is more a quite area at the beach ideal for relaxing. Would come again.…
