SALA Samui Chaweng Beach Resort opened in January 2018. This stunning five-star resort on the tropical Thai island of Koh Samui features a gorgeous powder-soft beach frontage, luxurious pool villas and oceanfront pool suites and exceptional facilities. The resort offers the choice of two distinct wings: the Oceanfront Wing and Garden Wing. In the Oceanfront Wing, all 52 stylish pool villas and pool suites come equipped with their own private pools. The Tent beachfront restaurant is also located here, serving breakfast for Oceanfront Wing guests, plus lunch and dinner for all guests at SALA Samui Chaweng Beach Resort. The Garden Wing, which launched in April 2019, is located across the road from the Oceanfront Wing and features a further 82 stunning rooms and pool villas, along with additional facilities including the SALA Spa Chaweng, kids’ club, garden lap pool, garden pool bar, and the treehouse restaurant + bar, which serves breakfast for Garden Wing guests.

SALA Samui Chaweng Beach Resort garners high praise for its cleanliness and range of amenities, including a luxurious spa and diverse dining options, which guests have called out as exceptional. While the hotel is deemed to offer good value, the price point of certain rooms has been a point of contention for some. Reviewers frequently commend the attentive and helpful service that adds a personalized touch to their stays. Moreover, the resort's prime location offers a serene escape yet remains close to lively beaches and nightlife. Guests also appreciate the spacious and well-maintained rooms, despite occasional minor issues and mentions of insects.

We spent a very relaxing week at SALA, all the team are very kind, polite and always keen to ensure you have the best time here. We enjoyed our complimentary breakfast in the mornings and amazing cocktails made by Tong in the evenings. The rooms are very spacious, we paid extra for one with an infinity pool, all very clean and well stocked up (even included a daily delivery of different iced teas). The rooms were cleaned twice a day as a minimum, the whole complex is beautiful and clean. The spa and gym are beautiful and I loved my morning yoga lessons! They’re doing their best to preserve the environment with many conscious choices, including in room toiletries. The location of the hotel is perfect - short walk into town for a bit more nightlife, far enough from all the noise. Some fantastic restaurants are only a short walk away. The only thing that we would change is for the hotel to become an adults only accommodation. The vibe is much more couples focused and it seems that the hotel could be missing a big opportunity.

Dear 949zuzanac, Thank you for spending a relaxing week with us at the start of the year, glad to read you enjoyed yourself very well! Thank you for your great feedback as well pertaining the services by our amazing housekeeping, spa teams, and the yoga by our expertly trained staff! Given the volume of rooms we did have a look at the adults only option, but unfortunately found insufficient support to validate this, hence we are open to all, and even have a kids club, but rest assured we will continue to seek opportunities in our business model as and when required. Please feel welcome to contact me on below details if I can assist in any way for your next booking or perhaps provide more information on our unique group of hotel destinations. We will ensure your next experience out-rivals your last. We look forward to welcoming you back! Kind regards, Erwin van der Veen General Manager genmgr@salachaweng.com

Possibly the most beautiful and relaxing place I have ever stayed. The design of the hotel is fabulous and the room took my breathe away. There is always scented oil Of your choice burning in the rooms to make it extra relaxing. Shampoo, conditioner and bodywash are also supplied in your choice of fragrance and bath salts for the gorgeous bath are provided daily.
I got only one mosquito bite across 4 days as the hotel provides plug ins for the rooms to ensure they stay away.
The pool areas are beautiful and not that crowded (with minimal children).
Food was great and prices are fair for a hotel of this standard with happy hours on drinks offered daily.
The beach is pristine but shallow but swimming is still possible.
I really hope I can return some day- I really just felt all my stress melt away!

This hotel Is beautiful and very different from other hotels we stayed in in Thailand.
Some people may find it an inconvenience that the hotel is separated by a busy road (the part on the beach is for the pricer rooms) forcing you to go back and forth to get to breakfast or to the gym. The breakfast area is beautiful and right on the beach. Though the buffet itself isn't as diverse and abundant as other 5 star hotels in Thailand, you can order of a menu (that changes a little everyday) a selection of dishes without limitation. The food of the menu looks beautiful but we found that is looks better than is tasted. The gym in the hotel is very nice and provides you a dissent workout. the prices in the spa ar expensive compared to massage price's on the street so we didn't try the spa, though it looked gorgeous. As our flight was at 7 PM the staff at the reception were very helpful offering us a place to lock our lugge and a room to shower in after checking out late from our room and enjoying the hotel's facilities. For some reason I felt I was bitten on the bed and in the room but husband didn't feel a thing. We will very much like to come back to this hotel.

Dear YAMETRAVEL, Thank you for your positive and constructive feedback following your stay, we are always delighted to receive both so we can celebrate successes and review areas of opportunity, and your detailed thoughts will certainly help us with this. Our breakfast indeed is not a typical, large buffet style, as we prefer to serve freshly prepared dishes, as you state unlimited as part of the breakfast buffet. I was a bit concerned though with your feedback on the taste, should you be willing to share more details with me directly please feel welcome to do so via below contact details. Koh Samui indeed has an abundance of Spa and massage facilities, on all levels and in greatly varying price ranges. This is largely due to the cost of products used, skills of therapists and expenses made for learning and development for those therapists, hence 5-star hotels indeed will reflect a higher cost than street massages. I agree that though on an incomparable level these provide a great offering to tourism on Koh Samui in general, hence we are delighted to see that despite not using our spa, you found some great rest and relaxation outside, ensuring you had a great vacation! That is the aim of all industry professionals.

I had the unexpected pleasure of staying at Sala Chaweng during the Covid crisis for almost 3 weeks. What had originally started as a 1 week trip, was (purposely) extended to 3. I couldn't have asked for a better experience than what the General Manager, Erwin, and his excellent team provided to me during my stay. The care given to guests, and adjusting the prices to unheard of levels, showed me immediately this hotel was all about the customer, and not about themselves.

Prior to my trip, I had not heard of Sala hotels, and was going to take the safe 'traditional' route and book with a Marriott brand. I am beyond happy that I took the recommendation of my colleague and booked Sala Chaweng. The resort delivered in every area :

Customer Service : Top notch. Every request from extra towels in the room, to remembering my dining preferences, were always delivered without reminders. Simply, the team did the job and did an outstanding job catering to the customer, and with a smile !

Food : The Tent restaurant, although had decreased the menu (from what I am told) was excellent. The food was fresh, generous in portion and made with flavor that never got boring. No matter if you had the amazing burger, or the Thai food, Nick Hall and his team made sure the product never was boring for the customer. The cocktails were as good as ones I would have at a high-end bar in New York City. Presentation, quality of ingredients, and price were a pleasant surprise.

Room : I had an ocean front pool room. The minimalist, bright fresh decor was always refreshing to call 'home'. The housekeeping staff was attentive and always ensured meticulous cleanliness during the visit. The sheets on the bed were very soft, and the pillow choices that the hotel provided were a welcome addition.

Staff : Given that this Covid crisis could have led to many of the employees feeling down and feeling sorry for the outcome .. you wouldn't know it by the amazing attitudes of the Sala Chaweng team. The beachboys, the front office, housekeeping, restaurant, and the management, all defined what 5-star hospitality should be : comfort and quality experiences for the guest.

As you can see, I'm 'sold' on Sala Chaweng ... I'm pretty sure they didn't put anything in the water to convince me.
They have earned a customer for life with my recent experience there, and I am looking forward to returning again with some of the great deals they have posted on their website.

Dear meetjimbo, Apologies for the delayed response, I guess after 2 months of being closed we did not monitor / maintain our TA page as well as we should have, but now that we are open again it was delightful to be reminded of your visit, and as we spoke in between I know we will see you again in the near future! It is always great to read someone who tends to be a loyal brand advocate to try us for a first time, resulting in a great stay, showing there are great options besides the big brands, and perhaps even more personalized due to the nature of the property. needless to say that we are indeed blessed with an amazing property, but as you very clearly indicate, the real difference sits with the team, who are absolutely amazing and make me a very, very fortunate GM. We are delighted to be operational again, and will without the shadow of a doubt continue to keep improving, whilst we recover from the Covid challenges. Time heals all wounds, and also this will pass, with new learnings made and implemented to provide a healthy and safe stay for our guests in months / years to come! Look forward to welcoming you back to your new "place to be", SALA Samui Chaweng Beach Resort! Warm regards, Erwin van der Veen General Manager genmgr@salachaweng.com

We recently stayed at Sala Chaweng for 4 nights hotel is quite new and modern. The rooms are lovely and we stayed in the garden balcony rooms but you still have access to the pool on the beach side and all it’s amenities. Though we did enjoy our garden pool better as it was well shaded. Check in was handled with ease and you get to choose what essence soap, and lotions you would like. We did have a couples massage as it was valentines when there though it’s more pricey than in the street it truly was divine and worth the lush experience. Breakfast is predominately a la carte and you can have as many as you like then you have a selection of the cold buffet with juices, fruits, cereals etc. is situated close to many restaurants and bars next door you have a convienance store handy to get snacks and a pharmacy as well. all in all I recommend this resort perfect for couples and honeymooners I feel

My experiences with Sala Samui Chweng was extremely awesome. I went there and stayed in the oceanfront garden pool villa. there is a yoga class at 7.30 am, paddle board and kayak for free. I did it all and felt super relax with the view and clear water. Breakfast was all you can eat served with Thai and western menus. I have a huge crush on Crab risotto, Australian Striploin and the dessert definitely goes for Chocolate fondant Happy hr for drink buy 1 get 1 free at 4-7 pm.

With the room type I booked I decided to order the floating breakfast the price was for two person but still I enjoyed my food all by myself that I could keep it for lunch as well. if you want to order it I could guarantee you that it worth of money.

Staffs was super friendly. I never felt like I came here alone. Anywhere you walk or bump to staffs they always say Hello How is your stay or How are you doing every time to make sure that you are doing ok. I honestly this is totally made my day happy.

For Oceanfront garden pool villa, the room is clean, minimal and relaxable I enjoyed little swimming pool then you could jump to the bathtub later on.

Last, Thank you the hotel and all staffs from the first day I arrived and the day I left. I had the best memories. I would go back there again. It's paradise

Best Regards,
Minnie Mouse

Sala Samui Chaweng is one the best resort I’ve ever stayed. The property itself is like a artwork. The room is very beautiful and comfortable. We love everything in the room, especially the daybed. Also the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are very high quality. Everything are much better than my expectation. Resort facilities are very nice designed. We had a lot of fun at pools. The food at restaurant were very good. I love Sala service APP very much! I can order the food , book SPA and send message to guest service agent by this APP. This help avoiding miscommunication and is efficient. It’s really helpful. Renting a motorbike from the hotel is really convenient. Sala is the only resort you can rent the motorbike directly from. There are family mart and pharmacy located by hotel lobby. This is really perfect and convenient. The welcome drinks, wine and snacks made us felt very welcomed. The breakfast is tasty. Honey herbal tea will be sent to the room in the evening everyday. It’s really nice. We had a little nice surprise when we back to the room on the date of our wedding anniversary. Everything are so sweet!! Also the tasty warm chocolate cookie in the room on New Year Eve . We like everything in this resort and definitely will come back again for our next trip to Samui

I have just returned from a wonderful week in the Sala Samui Chaweng resort and it would be very difficult to find any fault in our experience.

We were warmly welcomed to the beautiful resort after a quick, comfortable transfer from the airport. We stayed in a garden pool villa which was beautiful - clean, modern and comfortable - especially the bed which was particularly comfortable. It was immaculately cleaned inside arrival and every day by the excellent housekeeping staff.

The location on the beach front was excellent and a short stroll along the street or beach brought us to the centre of Chaweng with countless bars and restaurants.

Both pools and the beach were divine. The pool boys made the experience even better with water, watermelon slices and even fruity ice pops brought out to our loungers.
The restaurant served a fantastic breakfast and really lovely food and drinks throughout the day - Em in the tent restaurant was a particularly kind and friendly waitress.

All in all this resort is absolutely wonderful, fantastic value and I will certainly return for another trip.

Dear Chloebowi, In these challenging times globally, I am delighted to read you were able to get away from it all in a safe and relaxing environment at our resort, where cleanliness measures have been ramped up, hygienic guest amenities are available, and most importantly, an environment is created where guests can enjoyably ride this global storm! We now even have long stay offers for those preferring to stay in relative safe areas instead of going to more turbulent zones, hoping this will help! Rest assured your generous comments towards the team as a whole, and in particular towards the Beach boys and Khun Em will be shared with them, any positive encouragement at these times is a great support! We spend 12 nights at Sala Samui Chaweng Beach resort and had one of the most amazing and memorable holiday experiences in our lives (and we travel a lot!). Sala Samui Chaweng is a stylish, modern, bright and luxurious beach resort with wonderful rooms. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and everybody cares a lot for the guests.
Everything was just perfect. We booked a transfer from the airport and our driver was very kind, we felt very welcome at our arrival at the lobby. The check in was sweetened with a drink, some macarons and a fresh towel, plus the choice of the perfect pillow and preferred scents for lotion and soap. This is really first class. We stayed in a pool villa in the garden wing, which we now miss a lot, whilst back at home. The breakfast at ‚The Tent‘, which is situated directly on the beach is amazing. Great choice to start your day with healthy food. Lovely smiles from the staff make your heart jump higher in the morning. Don’t miss to book a dinner on the beach! You‘ll have one of the best romantic dinners with your feet playing in the powdered sugar sand. At the beach and pool you have lots of sunbeds to let your soul flow and the staff will come around, having some amenities for you. You can also enjoy a free kayaking. I can only review this resort by using superlatives! We will definitely come back and you: go and book your holidays at Sala Samui Chaweng. You will have a perfect holiday!

Where do I start other than to say I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The rooms are absolutely sublime - as someone on this forum very accurately described them 'modern Bali' style. We had the Beachfront Garden Pool Villa, which had masses of space, a nice airy and bright feel to it and lots of thoughtful touches such as bespoke soaps and body lotions. We chose peppermint and lemongrass prior to arrival. The staff were super friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble for them. The grounds themselves are pristine.

The Tent Restaurant food was delicious... for breakfast we highly recommend the banana bread, the oatmeal and the smoothie bowls. The homemade marmalade is also an absolute winner. Prices for lunch and dinner were what you would expect from a high end, chic resort... so we did not mind paying the little extra for the superior quality of food.

During these tough times we have to mention the massage ladies directly on the beach to the left of the resort 'Rose and Beach Massage'. The massages (particularly the Aloe Vera at 400 baht/hour) were so good we ended up having one per day. Living in Thailand we take regular massages and these were some of the best we have ever experienced. PLEASE go visit them :)

Outside the hotel there is very little open at the moment, but a short taxi ride to Fishermans Village and there are many restaurants available. We used a really friendly lady taxi driver every day. She speaks good English. Her name is Pheak and her number is 089 650 3919.

Now is also the right time to go on snorkeling/diving trips. We went on a day snorkeling trip and were the only ones in the bay at Koh Tao, managing to see lots of beautiful fish. Highly recommended while it is so quiet.

All in all one of the most relaxing holidays we have had in a long time. We will be back for sure and are counting the days until we do. Thank you Sala Samui!!!! :)

Dear Guest, No difference, it is just that certain OTA agents use different names, depending on where they take their rate from (which they should not, but ok). A Garden Deluxe Balcony room does NOT have a private pool, is located in the garden wing of the resort (i.e. must cross road to reach beach), breakfast is served in garden wing restaurant called "Sexy Fish". Hope this helps? Kind regards, Erwin van der Veen General Manager

Dear Nesrin, In the best interest of all, restaurants are smoke-free, there are areas around the beach bar where smoking is permitted. inside the rooms guests are not allowed to smoke, but all rooms have either a balcony and / or pool / terrace where guests can smoke. Kind regards, Erwin van der Veen General Manager
