Had a wonderful vacation stay at Salines Garden. The host Jean-Phillipe met us at the airport and assisted with our rental car. Each morning we had a delightful breakfast of breads and pastries. Jean- Phillipe and his lovely wife were gracious in recommendations of activities...More
We read the reviews before going - wasn't sure if it would live up to them, but it surpassed all expectations. Owners Jean-Phillipe and wife Laurence were lovely, met us at the dock so no taxi required and made us feel welcome from the outset....More
This was my first trip to St Barts and I wasn't sure exactly what to expect. From everything I had read, St Barts seemed like it might be a little bit like Monte Carlo meets Miami Beach. While I'm sure it's possible to find that...More

As Joseph mentioned, the cottages with kitchenettes have refrigerators. I would expect that you can get a taxi to and from Salines Gardens, but aside from walking to Salines beach and about 3 or 4 restaurants closeby you would need a taxi to go everywhere. I would think that when you add the taxi costs you would be better off staying in St Jean where there are more things close by, and you are closer to Gustavia as well. I do not think that I would stay there if I did not have a car.
