This is not at all a new establishment but is has been wonderfully maintained. Everything is bright, fresh and clean. The grounds are immaculate. I felt like I had been transported back to the 1950/60s. Wifi worked well and the beds were, comfortable. VERY good value !

We just checked out this morning and are very satisfied; if you're going to Hobbiton and want to stay in the area just book here. It's about $70 ($73/night in March 2017) a night for two twin beds, a king bed with dual-heated mattresses (each half has separate control), fantastic air conditioning, a furnished kitchen, and a spacious bathroom with...

My family and I stayed in the stand-alone suite one night and then two one bedroom rooms the following night due to availability. We had a very easy time settling in and the both types of rooms were clean, tidy and spacious. There were dishes available to use which was very convenient. The beds were comfortable and it was nice...

We stayed here last night following our hobbiton tour. Due to some storms slowing us down we got there later than expected and we're checked in with zero fuss given the key and pass code and left to get ready for our tour. Very polite and great service. The room was comfortable and well kept with a small kitchenette with...

Hello to all the family, yes it was a little wet and windy for your Hobbiton tour which was a shame, I'm not sure what you mean about the cold water as I have tested this today an it seems fine so sorry about this. All the best for the rest of your holiday. Regards Karen

First night of my New Zealand tour, perfect. Very warm welcome, very convenient room and within walking distance of the Hobbiton Bus. We went to the Wednesday Feast there. Just out of town enough to make our onward journey next morning very easy.

To the non-equestrian, Matamata has become virtually synonymous with the Hobbiton movie set, and we were no exception to this. We stayed one night at Tower Road so that we could do the late Hobbiton tour and the feast (highly recommended, incidentally). The motel is old enough to represent a heritage architectural type that once was everywhere in Australia, and...

Chose this spot as it was close to a Hobbiton tour. It's a bit out of Matamata, more in the country. Nice little motel, with some kitchen facilities...no stove, but microwave and fridge. Room was comfy. It had A/C.

Good Morning an thank you for your review, we feel very lucky to be situated where we are, only 1.5km from the centre of Matamata but surrounded by countryside the best of both worlds. Some of our units do have cooking facilities which is great as we can offer them an option, we hope you enjoyed the rest of your...

My parents and I stayed at Tower Road Motel for one night before heading to Hobbiton the next morning (as I'm sure many do!), and we had a wonderful stay. It was in an optimal location, and Karen, who greeted us upon arrival, was very helpful with all the questions we had regarding the area. On top of everything, my...

We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay! The hotel is situated close to town, but far enough away to have a real country charm. There is a path located along the highway that is great for a run or leisurely stroll. The room was clean and cozy. The room came with coffee, tea, and dishware. We received a warm welcome...

Good Morning from a very windy day here in Matamata, many thanks for your review, being only a 7 unit motel we can find time to do the little extras to make our guests stay a little more comfortable ( turning on your light). Enjoy 2017. Karen

This motel is perfect! Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. It is perfectly situated at the edge of the town so that you can appreciate the peaceful countryside, yet it is a short drive to the centre of the town. The owners were very kind and often drove their customers to the town and back! Now that...
