Two of us stayed in a 3 twin bed room. It was comfortable, clean, convenient to the Camino (3 blocks) and had a shower, shampoo and body wash and hairdryer. It was basic but perfect place to sleep!!There were no cooking facilities or refrigerator but cafe and food were very close. This Pensión is about 4 blocks from the main square and beautiful cathedral.
The lady who checked me in was awesome. So friendly and welcoming and offering advice on a map. Nice to be offered two rooms. I chose the private bathroom one. Prices were €22 or €30. Amazing pizza place nearly opposite. Supermarket around corner for water. Go early to the laundromat if you want to get your washing done as it gets super busy from 1pm ish. I woke up with saw hips from the bed springs digging in (I am not skinny) so had to get into the other twin bed which was slightly better. The bedspreads need a good wash and there were stray hairs in the bathroom.
The staff was super friendly and the location was convenient. We were given a map with restaurants and stores circled and staff helped us find places to buy new shoes for our Camino. We were originally given a room that reeked of cigarettes but were moved to another room when we mentioned it. The other room was huge. But the walls thin, out door shook anytime anyone else opened their doors and the shower was frighteningly close to over flowing because it drained so slowly. It was fine for the price and we’d probably stay again if on the Camino.
This pension is in a real neighborhood, just a few blocks off the Camino and near the outward bound side of town. I loved getting a taste of this neighborhood where on past Caminos I'd only ventured over her to find a farmacia or ATM. It's about 2 blocks from the bus, which is also convenient. The host was really great, very clear and thorough orienting me to the room and area, even making sure I knew which nearby cafe would be open early for heading out. There was a wonderful bathtub in my room, always an indulgence when walking every day. Wifi service was reasonably good. There is no washer or dryer on site but there are accommodations for hanging hand washed things. I wouldn't usually mention this, but the sheets were of exceptionally good quality. There is an elevator. The pension is 2 doors up a side street from the Bar Miguel where local families congregate on Sunday afternoons. They have good pinchos and a layered tortilla that ties with first place in my book--they also have good wifi. This place is a great value when you want a little comfort but don't need to spring for a parador.…
My wife and I are hiking the Camino and needed to take a rest day. I booked us into Pension Miguel and couldn’t have been happier. It is conveniently located just outside the historic center but close to restaurants, shops, a great super market and dynamite pastelleria. For just a bit above 30 euros we got a spacious room (shared bath) and were greeted warmly and enthusiastically by the proprietress.
