Took a break from bunk beds and got a single room with linen and private bathroom in the convent. Was clean and quiet. Good hot showers. Good breakfast / skipped dinner was too late. Nuns were v. friendly, most interesting place. Highly recommend.
This Hotel is run by "nuns" and that is what surprises most at the beginning. The truth is that nuns were very kind. It's an austere and quiet place in its interiors. There is no Lobby Bar and the Restaurant area is just for having breakfast and dinner.
Great value in the heart of Santa Domingo. Excellent parking. Really clean room. Very typically Spanish. Can’t fault it for the price and location. We are not sure but it also seems to double up as a residential home for older people. For a truly Spanish experience in Santo Domingo we highly recommend
Immaculately clean. Eerily quiet. Residents being quiet so as not to be disciplined by the nuns? Nice but cramped quarters with a small bed and bathroom. Good location a few hundred yards from the cathedral. Institutional feel but OK for a short stay.
After staying in 10+ person dorms, this is like heaven! Private room, private bath, TV & wifi that works! When you are walking the Camino de Santiago, these small "luxuries" stand out for a nice "treat yourself' moment in a quaint little town! No it isn't fancy, run by the Sisters (remember school??); a nice break, get some sleep and get back on the road!
