Stayed for a week, in a beachfront pol villa, which provided the perfect balance between beach and pool. The ocean was calm, It is a clean white sand beach, but when the tide is out, there is no water, just rocks. At high tide, it like a gigantic pool, roped off to keep out craft. They loan out snorkel and mask FOC. The villas were great, food was really good, plenty of variety for a week's stay. Friendly staff. We had a late checkout, and they delayed transfer so we didn't have to hang out at the airport for too long.

Location: the resort is right of a main road on the island. When you want to go around the island itself it is best to rent a motorbike/scooter closeby or you can ask the staff at the hotel for this (we just asked them and they found a motorbike for us quite fast. If you want to visit other islands or visit local spots with a guide you will have to book a trip in advance.
Room/villa: we had a small beachfront villa which was just amazingly beautifull! You have a private pool at the villa and the beach right after.
Service: The staff was just amazing (i know i use the word a lot here, but it is.. just.. amazing). We have stayed at more expensive resorts in other countries where the service was below average, but here they are just so helpfull, friendly and they seem genuinely happy with their job.
We actually changed villas in between our stay because the general manager noticed that the pool in our first villa was not the perfect colour (due to pool chemicals). We did not even notice this ourselves. She even offered a free couples massage for the trouble of moving to another villa. That is real service!
They say a lot about the smile of Thai people. It is here that i truly saw that famous Thai smile on the faces of the locals and the staff.
The restaurant: the food here was very good. We stayed here for quite some time so we tested a lot of different dishes. I can say that all dishes were very good. The menu is also very diverse for being on an island (Italian dishes, burgers, Thai food etc).
I would love to come back here with family and friends. This place is just the best.

My wife and I chose Elixir Resort for our 5-night stay on Koh Yao Yai and we could not have made a better choice. The Deluxe Villa we booked was very nice and had all the amenities we could ask for, including a spacious outdoor shower and a terrace from which we could overlook the whole resort and the sea. Everything was well looked after and clean.
The staff was very friendly and attentive, breakfast was delicious with lots of variety. We also enjoyed watching the sunset from Tiki Bar during happy hour.
The highlight of the resort, however, is the natural beach. There are lots of trees under which you can put your sunbed, so there is no need for a parasol and the constant rearrangements of sunbeds to stay in the shade. The beach is cleaned every morning by a member of the staff who picks up fallen leaves etc. Swimming is only possible during high tide, so it's a good idea to check the tide table in advance.
I would definitely recommend the resort to anyone looking for a quiet hideaway close to Phuket. There are also some good local restaurants in the vicinity if you want to have dinner outside the resort, as we did.

We loved our 7 days at Glow Elixr on Koh Yao Yai over the Christmas 2021 period. This is not a 5 star hotel and does not claim to be, we rated it excellent for it’s laid back old Thailand feel with twists of modern Thailand. It is set on a private beach with lovely views out to the Khai Islands about 20 minutes away by long tail boat and the sunsets are just magnificent. The resort arranged our transfers to Glow Elixr from our hotel in Patong and is the easiest way to get there. It is separate bungalow accommodation with a large main pool overlooking the sea and if your budget stretches a little further, go for the beachfront private pool bungalows which are also the closest to the beach and restaurant, they are great. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served by the sea. Breakfast is a small buffet with an egg station. From 11.00am to 9.00pm you can dine when you feel like it and the menu selection and quality of the food is very good. All staff are delightful from reception, chefs & housekeeping through to the gardeners, thank you for being so kind to us. Our special thanks to Restaurant staff: Win (great cocktails and all round nice guy) and the beautiful Ah and Justine (Nui), lovely young ladies - you all work so hard and we are very grateful. Recently returned back from 13 nights at the Glow Elixir Hotel. We enjoyed a relaxing break in this quiet resort that's beautifully maintained and managed. All of the staff from the gardeners, maids waitresses all the way to the reception and management were so friendly and made us realty welcome.
There's not a lot that happens in the resort in the way of activity's or entertainment but that's exactly what I expected so we were not disappointed. If I was looking for more activity I would have stayed in Phuket.
The beachfront pool villa we stayed in was excellent accommodation and suited our needs perfectly it was nice to be around the room on your own deck with pool and look out across the sea.

Arriving by speedboat is the start of an exciting journey to this resort passing beautiful deserted islands and turquoise waters. Our villa was right on the beach with it's own pool and it was kept very clean and our villa was well stocked with one of the best outside bath and showers we have stayed in. The beach is clean and safe and the staff do a Fab job keeping it that way. The food is yummy as are the cocktails especially during happy hour in the tiki bar and the staff are eager to please. It is a gem of a place and we loved every bit. Some advice,if you are a couple looking for peace and quiet make sure that when you book you get the quiet spots in the resort, as at the time we travelled there were lots of families with many babies in the communal areas. Agnes the general manager was very helpful when we mentioned this to her.

We have now stayed at the Elixir for the fourth time. We love the peace and space in the hotel and appreciate the absence of tourists who normally flock to Phuket. The rooms are simple but in good condition. Which category you choose is a question of taste and money. They do not differ much in size and furnishings. Some have larger outdoor areas and a pool. The bungalows in the back row are a little higher up and therefore sometimes offer a very nice panoramic view. We had a beach bungalow with a view of the sea and the beach. The entire complex is very spacious. Every day all the leaves are removed, the beach is cleaned of coral fragments and rubbish (Phuket is unfortunately not far away). During high tide you can swim and snorkel excellently. If you swim a little further out you can even find intact coral and schools of fish. The hotel's kitchen and restaurant are particularly worth mentioning. All the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, the food is simply delicious. If you absolutely don't like Thai cuisine, there are also a few western alternatives. Happy hour is at 5pm and you can watch the sun go down while enjoying a few cocktails. For me, the hotel is an idyll that you don't often find in this form anymore. THANKS again to the whole team, especially to Win, Reya, Mae, Gai, Sui and all the others whose names I don't have to hand right now. Thanks also to the very friendly resort manager Taro. This is our second time staying at this resort, and it is genuinely our favourite place in the world. (For context, we have also been to Italy, France, Switzerland, England, Brazil, the US, Japan, and Australia). Why is Koh Yao Yai Glow Elixir our favourite? It's quiet, calm and relaxed. The weather (in November) was perfect. The beach is stunning and you truly get the best of both worlds: it's soft and sandy and calm at high tide (perfect for swimming) and rocky and corally with rockpools at low tide (perfect for exploring, but I'd recommend surf shoes and a snorkle). The staff are so kind and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. They also organised 2 amazing tours for us while we we stayed with them, as well as well organised transfers to and from Phuket airport. (If you're interested, its a taxi from the airport to the port, a speedboat from the port at Phuket to the port on KYY, and then a 4wd from the port at KYY to the resort. Total time from airport to resort is around 120 mins). The guests are calm and polite and kept to themselves, which was perfect for us, as introverts. We mainly read books in the shade or had a swim, and ate and drank at the beautiful restaurant. We also got massages with the onsite masseuse, which we highly recommend. There's a massage centre by the main swimming pool which is new and lovely. We recommend staying in the oceanfront pool villas. We stayed here both times, and they seem like the best rooms. You get the most stunning sunsets from these rooms (as your room faces west over your private pool, and then the ocean). There's a Whatsapp that makes it super easy to communicate with the front desk. We used if for all our questions and to organise services (massages, laundry services, tours, etc). Super handy. Happy to answer any questions about this glorious place. We're already planning our next (3rd) trip here. Can't wait!

The best hotel I have ever stayed in. We arrived by their own speed boat straight onto the beach. They greatest us by washing the sand off our feet and then given us a drink and cold flannels. We upgraded to a pool villa which they did at a discount price for us. Our villa was perfection with an outside shower large pool and a bath. The beach was paradise white soft sand. There are no TUK TUK on Koh Yao Yai. Nowever, there are many local taxis available to take you around the island. The resort can also call them for you without service charge.
There are more places to choose from in the Ko Yao Yai area.
