Thank you Kyy village for a beautiful relaxing stay. Luxurious without becoming generic, low key without becoming rustic this gorgeous lodge is a lovely unobtrusive peaceful haven. Rooms are comfortable with some lux touches- we loved the outside shower. Towels are plentiful as is complimentary drinking water and the verandah with the fan is a winner. The infinity pool is unbeatable and the beach is perfect for strolling and exploring. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful and the staff are delightful. Rooddy at reception was charming. What would I change? Dinner is pricey compared to local places but that’s ok- eat elsewhere. Otherwise, it’s heavenly.

I'll start with the positives: the villas are beautiful, clean and spacious. Staff very friendly, even overly (I started to feel uncomfortable at the constant attention, just walking to the gym Id encounter 8 employees). I had a fantastic massage/body scrub, 90 minutes for 2000 baht. The view was gorgeous, as were the grounds. Right in the heart of a jungle paradise. I read some reviews complaining about the noise from the wildlife! We couldn't disagree more. While loud, it was very relaxing. Great pools. Our guide for the island tour, Sak was fantastic and we really enjoyed him and our tour.
Cons: Although the lodging is reasonably priced, all others were overpriced with the exception of the spa. The restaurant, bar, and excursions were all priced gouged. The food was not only not good, at times it was flat out bad. Breakfast buffet was a bizarre mix of foods and I ended up having eggs and toast every single day for 8 days. The first 3 days, we were so tired we didnt leave the resort but once we discovered how cheap things were in town, we refused to eat there again. The drinks at the bar took forever, were weak and overpriced as well. They add 17% to everything, then have the nerve to leave a spot for tips (10% service fee, 7% tax). The gym was def gross. Old, rusty equipment I didnt feel safe using and no air conditioning Also, at one point we ordered room service and our dishes sat dirty in our room for 24 hours. At some point housekeeping moved them to the porch where they sat for another day. So housekeeping came, saw the dishes, moved them and left them. Twice. When we went to leave they said they would send a car to get us and our luggage but they never showed up and we ended up walking.
In general we enjoyed our stay a lot. I would make the following suggestions: rent a scooter. They're cheap and it gives you options. Book all taxis and excursions privately. Enjoy

The place is breathtaking, you won’t get tired to the amazing views no matter where you are at this hotel. The rooms are spacious and the decoration and furniture are stunning. Same with the restaurants and bar, whoever designed this place did a great job. We couldn’t stop taking pictures all day long.
However, I have to say that there is a big room for improvement specially in the food and beverage department. Food is overpriced specially since the menu prices don’t include the VAT and service charge, but this is not the main problem, the problem is that it takes forever to get your food and it is really not that special. Once we waited over an hour for a sandwich. No wonder why when we out of the hotel to the near by restaurant, all other guests of the hotel where dinning there.
We spent New Year’s Eve at Koh Yao Yai Village and the buffet wasn’t that great, lack of variety, food stations were cold (same as in the breakfast), they run out of wine and entertainment was not that great. On top of that they turned off the music at 12:30 and sent everyone to bed. Really not worth paying the price, however we found our later that buffet was not compulsory so if you are planning on visiting for Christmas or New Years, go out for dinner and come back later for the (little bit of) music.
I believe the hotel needs a guest relations manager that speaks English, or someone that can understand your feedback because most of the staff speaks very little English. For the type of guests that they are receiving I believe they need someone with better language skills.
Overall a beautiful place where we hope we can return someday hoping to find a better job done at the F&B department.

Although it was the rainy season still, it was a beautiful stay, especially since you are surrounded by jungle. The rooms I stayed in was a small bedroom becuase the living room was basically outside. On a large balcony there was a couch to lounge on, a table and chairs to sit together and 2 tanning beds. Plenty of room for yoga on your balcony and the refrigirator is out as well. No worries, it doesn't get cold. The shower was outdoors (accessible from within the room) and it was a real treat to shower outdoors, even when it rained. Plentty of towels, beach towels and a curiously scented shower gel, which I am on the hunt for. All the cabins and bungalows are scattered on a a seriously large grounds and they have baggies to take you everywhere. No cars are allowed in the resort (and that's a good thing) so even if you rent a scooter, it will wait for you outside the walking gate where there is a guard 24/7

We spent six lazy days there in late 2019, as a couple. We had a nice and large sea view bungalow. Our place was clean and spacious, a bedroom and living room, confortable bed, two showers, quiet, well designed and nicely furnished. strong wifi as well. It was actually too easy to stay "home" and do nothing. Which is just fine too. The hotel staff has been well informed of "land of smile " designation and is doing its best, particularly at the breakfast. We both enjoyed the breakfast, plenty to choose from, good food both thai and international. We tried the " night market " Thai buffet once and it was also good and varied. We both like to swim in open sea, unfortunatly not possible on this beach, too shallow, so we rented a moped and drove every afternoon to the other side of the island to swim. An easy and safe drive, it is worth going around and checking what is there, looking at the local life and landscape, stoping here and there. It is not a big island and life is slow. The good thing about not being a swimming beach is that it is way more quiet like that, and the beach is mostly yours. In the evenings one can see the bright green lights of the fishing boats far away at sea. The small rice fields on the resort grounds are a nice touch. We were pleased with our stay and will consider coming back if we are in this part of the world.

It was nice to be back a gain after tiring period of work. This was a spontaneous 3 days 2 nights trip and I have came across the four islands trip on this stay! I have experienced long tail board that started the journey from around 10:00 am from the pier and visits beautiful islands. Hong lagoon was my best memorable however this wasn't be the best without Khun Nil who has been taking care of all details during the trip. Moreover, my mobile phone as no space to keep more images, Nil got it all I need as I am a Solo Traveler that did not stop me from everything I wanted to do. Once again Thank you to Nil.
Do not forget to visit Spa after all day long. They were every concerned to my sun burnt skin and recommended coconut oil aroma massage. I admitted that I went to spa every evening. The treat was great and atmosphere keeps me coming back. Do not forget to have lovely breakfast with all I need. I love to have Pork bacon with eggs in the morning yet, they have chicken bacon with sausage to replace. That was taste. And also special menu of each day would gives you a surprise with island style food presentation. I would like to thank Khun I-tim the guy who always take photos for me during breakfast and by the swimming pool. Khun Fah is always smiling and serving great food at her egg station.
Khun Nan is always there to ask if i am okay and if i need anything, he smiles from his heart.
Never forget to dine in the restaurant, I have been eating every dinner deep fired red snapper with different kinds of sauce each time I ordered. Well chef tried to made their best test even those sauce did not mention on the menu. Please do not be scared of the little kitten or some cats that came to wake you up with their small noice in the morning. I am not a cat person but it was heart melting.
It was not my first visit but i stayed their 7 times. Hope someone would call me by name!
I would like to thank the team for making my stay so fantastic! They are thoughtful and Khun Au was very welcome at her reception. I envy your reception office with island view and nice breeze.
I hope to see you all again especially Khun Nil who made my trip so special this time and to meet new friend along this trip.

Koh Yao Yai village was nestled perfectly in between the forest and the sea. Where you get to experience both at their best. Our transfer trip from the airport was booked via the hotel, which was a streamlined transfer without any delays (Phuket airport > private minivan to Ao Por Pier > long tail boat to Chong Lad Pier > private resort owned transport to the resort village). We highly recommend booking transfer transportation with the hotel. The check-in was great with refreshments and drinks while they were processing our check in. We booked the Family Room and the room given was strategically located near to the lobby, pool/beach access and the two restaurants ( the village has only three family rooms, two of which are located in the forest, 5 minutes walk from the lobby, and one which is close to the beach area). The rooms were clean, fresh, and very spacious. The view was picturesque, overlooking the sea and Koh Rang Nok insel. The bathrooms were spacious too. (A bidet was included in the bathroom).
Every day, we got to try a different authentic Thai breakfast, intercontinental breakfast options, freshly made croissants, and an egg and pancake station. The lunch/dinner menu was also delicious and tasty. The price range was affordable. ( Please note that the island is mostly populated with Muslim the chicken was sourced from their local butchery, which is halal).
The activity center had lots of activities to do around the island. The price was a bit pricey compared to Phuket, but overall we had a good experience. We were taken to Hong Island for snorkeling and Monkey Island. Our second activity was a village tour to the rubber plantation and processing factory. The infinity pool and jacuzzi were great overlooking the islets. The beach was nice with calm waves only at high tide. The resort also provides free water activities such as rafting and surfing boards. Special thanks to the crew for making our stay lovely:  Fah and Robi from reception (warm welcome),  Sag from the activity center.  And finally, the two ladies and Nick from the restaurant.Â
There were some minor points which were given in the form of feedback to the hotel staff. Otherwise, it was a perfect stay, and I will return.

A very nice hotel in the middle of nature. Very helpful and sweet staff and the breakfast was delicious. Unfortunately it’s very expensive to dine and drink at the hotels restaurants so I would recommend you to go to the nearby restaurants instead. It’s a shame that the nearby beach is not being taken care of as it is dirty and full of garbage and the tourists are the ones cleaning it up. Should be the hotel staffs job.

This was our first visit and were very impressed. The resort is a perfect location with a panoramic view where you can see the sunrise in the morning. The local foods are very tasty, the dinner was excellent and the croissants at breakfast were particularly fresh and delicious. The staff are friendly, helpful and the service was uniformly excellent and obviously well-trained by management. All in all a great experience!

This is beautiful quiet and relaxed resort. The island itself is the biggest attraction. The resort has everything you require and is right on the beach, the seafood restaurant which is there has some of the best seafood I have ever tried, Antony served each night and made the best cocktails in Thailand. While Lobster Thermidor and grilled seafood platter was only £25. I cannot recommend this place enough if you are looking for a relaxing holiday on a uncommercial island…
