We stayed at Esmeralda View Resort for 2 weeks after 3 weeks travelling around Thailand and Laos. It is a great place for relaxing: quiet, great view to the sea, nice bungalows, good food cooked from Nono and great support from Boarn the manager of the resort. She was always friendly and helpful. It is not the best place for swimming but it`s possible and the area at the sea is really fantastic with it`s palmtrees and the great view. There is also a shower. Boarn told us that they want to build a swimmingpool for better swim conditions for the children. You can rent good scooters at the resort to get around. The traffic at the island is not heavy and the people take care of tourists on their scooters. We can recommend a day tour by boat and with the scooter to the neighbour island Ko Yao Noi. The crossing with the longtail boat - us two and our scooter- was remarkable :-) !

We had a wonderful time at Esmeralda, it was so relaxing and the view is amazing. The staff is very nice. The breakfast was very good. The bungalow we had was confortable, the clim was working good and we had a small fridge. Wifi was working fine both in room and lobby. We also rented a scooter at the resort to travel across the island which was safe as there is not much traffic. Many cats are hanging around, they are all super friendly, please be nice with them. We will come back for sure!

Adorable welcome, smiling staff. Hearty, fresh, varied and delicious breakfast. Meals are expensive. Our nice sea view bungalows. Cleanliness ok, good bedding but hard pillows for me. 1st night part of the ceiling came off with a loud crash. We were moved to another room, so we had to pack everything up, re-unpack it and transport it... Larger "VIP" bungalow, huge bathroom with shower and bathtub (no real need). 4 hangers and no shelves to store clothes. And there... The air conditioning was leaking profusely, day and night. We had to take care of putting towels on to absorb the water at the risk of slipping on the tiles.. Throughout our stay... Not cool. We could have, maybe changed rooms again!! No price reduction was offered for the inconveniences... Do not trust the word "resort", which has no interest here. The area is nice, quiet. No wifi in the rooms. We rented a scooter to explore the island and find nicer beaches. The water is not very transparent overall

We had an incredible stay at Esmeralda view. The view is stunning and the breakfast is extraordinary! They use fresh vegetables and fruits from their own beautiful natural garden. The atmosphere is friendly and familial. They own cats and a lot of chickens, which are free to go wherever they like.
If you can afford it, go for the deluxe bungalows. They are worth it!
Though the beach is not suitable for swimming.
If you look for a calm, beautiful place with a lovely atmosphere, this is the place to be!
Definitely recommend!

A stay in paradise with my best friend. The staff takes great care of everything, the food is worthy of a great restaurant, not to mention the breakfast which has a wide choice of local products and is made with great generosity out of love. We particularly enjoyed sharing the good humor of the receptionist and the great kindness of the driver. A big thank you to the entire team for this unforgettable stay will be remembered forever.

First of all I was all over Thailand from North to south so I know what I am talking about (even that the islands are totally again totally overpriced). I don't know who pond is (who is stated as owner of this resort in former reviews) but I've never seen her over the time I was here. The actual owner seems to be an old women who definitely knows how to make money and is not aware of scaming everyone of her guests. Don't be fooled by her giggling sound she is doing all the time. First of all she is not able to speak at least one (!!!) English word. How come I can run a resort with not speaking English at all? We arrived at the resort with improved taxi (didn't want to pay 300thb from the taxi scamers at the port for 4km of driving - so I walked into town and got a Lokal motorbike guy to first Drive my girlfriend and me afterwards to the resort for a much better prize and he definitely needed the money more than the taxi company). So we arrived and the woman didn't know anything about our booking with agoda. So she wanted us to pay again the full prize. Even after seeing the booking on our cell phone. After discussing the issue over and over she gave us the room after calculating our EURO prize to thb and agreeing that we were supposed to have the see view bungalow. That's the start for over 65 Euro a night. Nice service. Since we were totally done that night we ate at the resort, since reviews talked about the good food. This at least I can aggree on besides the nice view. But again she knows how to make money. After having been here over 5 days I can say that the dishes are way overpriced. She is even charging rice for 40 thb a dish (!!!). Never seen this before either in Europe, the U.S. wherever on the world. So we thought well it's probably all a bad start. By the way she is charging guests 100 thb for a beer (instead of 50 or 60 thb in the shops on the island) or 40 thb for coke (instead of 20 thb in the shops - that's double the prize (!!!)). To top this we waited 2 hours for our dinner, there were three other people eating there. So after this we ate all nights outside the resort. Also don't be too excited about breakfast. It was all days the same stuff. Pineapples and watermelon, the same types of sticky rice and some cold egg stuff. Now the next thing is coming up. She is having a list for all prizes, like motorbike tent etc. So since I am owning a big motorbike in Germany and being aware of how shifting with that Thai scooters works I wanted to save us the overpriced rice money by renting the manual scooter (300 thb) instead of the automatic (350thb (again in town 300 thb)). She of course didn't understand me even after I showed her the two prices available on her sheet of paper. Now she got pissed and gave me the shitiest scooter she had. Of course with giggling while she gave me the keys. At the end of our stay we summed all our expenses (food and beverages) up. There it was again. She wanted to add the room charge on top. I told her again that we paid upfront with agoda but she didn't realize anything. It took me an hour with showing her our booking code and all the emails over and over again. In the end she wanted to know again (!) how much the amount we paid is in thb. I told her it's all fine and went out. Sorry but I'm not her clerk for doing her books. If she's not capable of that she should hire someone especially who can speak English. Best of all we wanted a taxi to the pier. Since we had to leave at 7 a.m. Early in the morning to catch the first Longtail to Krabi I wanted the taxi. She said this would cost 300 thb. In the end it was her own car with one of her staff driving us. I don't know what to say. No expenses at all (wow 1 liter of diesel) and letting the customer pay 300 thb. Well done. We'll definitely never ever come back again. If you've a common sense you can even realize and feel that the employees feel totally uncomfortable and are treated totally rude by her. I totally cannot recommend staying here unless you don't have to worry about money at all. Then you'll be the best guests she ever had. Again I am aware that all Thais are trying to scam you a bit. But that resort is top of the pops.

Esmeralda resort is a very nicely situated bungalow resort. There are several bungalows from the smaller ones but even then big enough to have a comfortable stay. Last year we were here for only 4 days and had a smaller bungalow. With seaview and airconditioning. This year we decided to return and make this our main stay for 17 days. The new bungalows which last year were still being build are finished this year. These are the top bungalows. Very space, beautiful bathroom with shower and bath from which a direct view on the Andaman sea. The bed is bigger then king size. And from your bed you also van look onto the sea. The porch is very large with two extra wide relaxing beds.
Every night is inclusive with breakfast which is in the central place. Of course with seaview😊. Lots of fresh fruits. Various stuff to eat. You will not be able to say they don't have what you want.
The restaurant is also serving lunch and dinner. Prices are ok. Maybe a little more then other restaurant. The food is very tasty and prepared with a heart for food.
The staff run by the owner, a very nice lady called Pond. She will make sure everything is right to your satisfaction. If you go there they also rent motorbikes and stuff. There is a private beach and garden down by the sea. The resort is about 20 meters above sea level. That why the view is so stunning. I almost forgot to mention that.
Having said all this actually I regret a little writing this review. This will get more people to the resort and the island. And actually this is a pearl you want to keep a little bit for yourself. However if you're going to this surrounding don't forget about this place. Is is reachable by boat only from Phuket or Krabi. Enyou you're stay!!!

The rooms are beautiful with sea view. The guest house sits on its private beach which is easily accessible.
The staff are amazing - they helped us with everything, bikes, snorkeling equipment, kayak, and even fruits "to go".

I did not like the price policy. The food in the restaurant is overpriced and worst we had in three weeks in Thailand (very oily), unfortunately there is no other restaurant in walking distance. They charged 40 bath for rice?! And you have to wait about one hour to get your meal. But the worst thing is that they charged 30 bath for a cup of tea you make yourself from morning buffet and bring to your room (there is no kettle in the room).
On the other hand, the view is stunning and room very charming.
