We spent just the night here in an otherwise busy island hoping trip around Thailand, though I wish we’d stayed longer!

Lovely small quiet little hotel with unique cabins. The pool is lovely and right on the beach. The beach isn’t amazing so don’t go here for that but this seems one of the few remaining authentic and relaxing slices of Thailand left without hoards of tourists.

5 min taxi (pay about 200 baht, though they’ll want 300) from the only port. The island is tiny with one small shop and restaurant within walking distance of the hotel.

Food in restaurant is okay, staff are friendly though could be more attentive.

Rooms / cabin nice enough and again feels authentic but you will have Geko’s and bugs coming in through the gaps in doors (there’s a mosquito net to seal you in at night though)

Go hear to relax and you’ll love it!

Tiewson Beach Resort

A beautiful resort by its architectural structure that lines on the island of Yao Yai isolated in the midst of sea and mountain to become an exclusive hideaway. You’ll receive a warm welcome and great service from staffs with true loves and cares

You’ll find a perfect harmony of indigenous multi-cultural way of livings by local people on the island that fills your heart as a memorable vacation

Starting new experience of a journey to a destination for tranquility and relaxation that brings a positive energy for revitalization. Once stepping in the resort, it will make you feel the place becomes your second home

Beautiful little hotel facing the sea with infinity pool. The wooden cabins are very cozy, they have the typical open-air bathroom, they also have air conditioning and a refrigerator. You breathe a lot of peace, you hear birds, frogs and cicadas. A little frog visited us every night, one night he even slept inside a sports car on the porch. The staff is very attentive and the breakfasts are very complete with omelettes and eggs cooked to order. They also have a motorcycle rental service and excursions.

We departed Bang Rong Pier “North East Phuket” by longtail boat, the journey took around 1hr and was very choppy to the Ko Yao Yai.
Unfortunately upon arrival we found this accommodation to be the probably worst place we stayed throughout our travels in Thailand.
It’s just really tired and needs some money spent on it to bring it back to it former glory..,, There are several holes in the room floors & walls where the floor boards have split overtime “when we were shown our first room, there was a large spider walking across the floor” later in the evening a bat flew into the bathroom. Fixtures & fittings are just really dirty with ground in dirt, there is no door or mosquito net between the bathroom and the outside shower area, you need to sleep with the old mosquito net draped over you every night.
My room had a family of frogs beneath it which every evening, as soon as it became dark started the frog chorus until morning. We didn’t actually mind the animal related things “other than the very large Koi Carp kept in small shallow tank” as that’s what we were there to see in Thailand, just the accommodation and grounds were really below par. My double bed was 2 singles stuck together so really uncomfortable. My family had 2 different rooms and trying to close / lock the front door on either of them was difficult “to say the least” We did 1 Island long boat trip from the hotel with an “English speaking guide” however he didn’t really speak, when we arrived at an island, there was no information on the name / history of the island, it was just ladder placed over board and you had to assume that now was your time to exit the boat. Food in the hotel was ok, breakfast had limited choice compared to other hotels, but they did have a lady cooking eggs to your liking, which was good.
I hope the family spend some time and money to get the resort cleaned up and refreshed so travellers can enjoy there stays.

What a lovely place to stay! surroundings are just perfect. I must say, hotel staff is very friendly, polite and helpful. we stayed in family villa with two bedrooms and private pool. very rustic and beautiful. rooms very spacious, walk-in shower huge! We did rent bikes from hotel and had amazing ride through the island. Food was always fresh and delicious, must mention that they did were very good with allergens, and even though we had buffet breakfast included they did cook separately gluten free breakfasts for us.

Passing through this small island, with a group of friends we stopped to sleep one night in this seaside resort. Unfortunately the water in front is not beautiful and is subject to the tides so when you get there by boat you have to be careful. Beautiful and spacious rooms: the rooms on the beach side are certainly nicer, while those near the mountain, which however have their own swimming pool, are more spartan. The hairdryer and the air conditioning remote control were missing and we were unable to regulate the temperature during the night (shame!!!!!). Abundant breakfast, they even make eggs for you on the spot, good coffee and cappuccino and many savory things too. Tables with sea view!!! The cuisine for dinner is not the best... but there is little or nothing around.

We went there as a family with our 2 children in a very pretty family bungalow located by the 2nd swimming pool, on the hill.

For the lucky ones, the hotel is located on the beach. Pretty rooms and very beautiful gardens. We enjoyed the beach and its breathtaking view. Be careful, the sea is almost inaccessible unless you climb a dangerous wall.
Negative side: be careful about the bungalow allocated to you, ask for a bungalow on the beach otherwise you will find yourself on the hill high up, far from everything. You will have to go down the hill then cross a busy road to reach the hotel. We feel a little out of the way from everything and therefore the children cannot get around on foot.
Manager who rolls his eyes a little too much for our liking! Everything seems to bore him except when you have to pay... nothing to do with the famous warm welcome of the Thais.
We only ate once at the restaurant because of a 1h30 wait and closing at 8:15am.

Hotel which welcomes many families like us but obviously not all of them have the same education: children who scream and jump in the swimming pool from 7:30 a.m. and this all day long. Not enough deckchairs because some are broken or some customers put their towels down in the morning to reserve them all day….
In short, a great experience despite everything

We spent two nights at Thiw Son Beach resort and really enjoyed it. It was peaceful and relaxing and a great break from Phuket. We took a boat from Rassada Pier(Phuket) and then a taxi to get here. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food at the hotel was delicious. The infinity pool was very refreshing and the views from the hotel were stunning.

A few things to bear in mind is that there isn't really a beach and we couldn't swim in the sea as it wasn't deep enough to swim. You are also exposed to many insects and animals. We didn't really mind this and would overall highly recommend this hotel!

Located by the sea, but it is not possible to sit on the beach directly opposite because the sea does not allow it. The staff is top notch. Kind, helpful. The bulgalows are correct, everything is functional and practical. They are also very spacious. The bedding is correct. The pool is nice and the view is magnificent. The hotel restaurant is very, very good, but I find that the quantities are really small compared to other places, and the prices for eating and drinking are really more expensive than elsewhere. There is nothing special to do around the hotel other than relax and enjoy the surroundings.

Very sexy, very romantic atmosphere Lovely staff, clean, warm rooms, a small but clean swimming pool, breakfast. During our first day of stay, there were few customers. The resort therefore arranged a breakfast set with fresh fruits and salads, which was considered very good. And on the second day, breakfast was a buffet. I like the delicious stir-fried soy sauce. Very suitable for people who want to escape the chaos. who really need to rest I recommend this place, Thiw Son Beach Resort.

Hi there. Is it convenient to go swimming and snorkeling on the beach?
Answer from Sinead W

Hi when we went in October the sea was very murky so I wouldn't recommend for snorkelling. You can swim in the sea but again it was very murky (I don't like to swim if I can't see what's in there so I just paddled!)
