Baan Taranya is located near a ferry pier with stunning views of Phang Nga Bay. The beach itself is not suitable for swimming. However, the hotel offers a free shuttle service to the beautiful Laem Had Beach twice a day. Below is the detailed hotel review: Location: ** - apart from the fantastic view there is nothing positive to notice - The hotel is very remote. Within walking distance there are no relevant shopping facilities. The small Muslim-run shops do not sell alcoholic beverages. - There are some acceptable restaurants in the vicinity, but they are mostly Muslim-run and therefore do not offer alcoholic drinks. One of these restaurants is located on the beach right next to the hotel restaurant. Rooms: ** - We were looking forward to the "Honeymoon Villa" and were disappointed. The bedroom was so small that there was no room for opening the 2 suitcases. For this the bathroom was very generous. - There was no wardrobe or shelf for clothes - Our "Villa2" was full of mosquitoes on arrival, which were destroyed at our request Pool: *** - The beautiful small pool with some sunbeds was suitable for relaxing. Unfortunately, it smelled very strongly of urine throughout our stay. Apparently there is insufficient cleaning. Breakfast: *** - considering the hotel size, there was a wide range of delicious food Restaurant: ** - The restaurant offers a modest selection of overpriced food. So we catered outside the restaurant. - We can recommend the Chill Chill @ Pai, which is located about 1 km from the hotel and is a notable exception to the no alcohol policy of the other restaurants. - In the restaurant of the hotel there is wine, beer and cocktails Cleanliness: ** - The cleanliness of the room leaves much to be desired: On the shower, the dust was so thick that you can grow carrots on it. - Depending on which maid took care of the room it was either dirty or clean. - About the cleanliness of the pool I have already commented above

We stayed in the Penthouse and it is truly a lovely hotel. The rooms are spacious and the Penthouse also has access to a private Jacuzzi on the top floor which has great views.
Staff are extremely helpful. They also have their own scooters to rent which is a huge bonus. Lovely pools available and the beach front drinks relax area on the beach sand is wonderful.
We only ate breakfast which was fine.
I would definitely stay there again.

They booked this resort for us through a local tour operator, let me start by saying that we explicitly requested to relax on the beach and have something around for lunches and/or dinners. The resort is in the middle of nowhere. To eat you either eat in the hotel restaurant or immediately next door towards the beach in the only other place. The sea is dirty and the beach insignificant but above all not even minimally equipped. There are 6 fixed deckchairs suitable only for an aperitif at sunset which among other things are not there because they are located to the east. We escaped in the middle of the day and to top it off they charged us 500 baht for 13 km saying that the route would take 45 minutes while Google gave 20 and in fact we arrived in 19 minutes by car. Being teased like that was truly the worst thing. Not recommended both in terms of location, services and non-existent courtesy. After moving we were reborn. Despite the few hours spent there, I have a thrilling memory. Bad experience.

I really enjoyed my stay. Everything I expected. It is very quiet and relaxed. Just what I wanted. Very friendly staff and the room was great. Free shuttle bus to Laem Haad beach which is a must. Breakfast was OK. Restaurant at the end of the road with the green plastic seats served the best, cheap, good food. I would stay there again.

We were there with friends for dinner. Starters were served after main course, the meat was over cooked, the pineapple fried rice insipid… At least the second time around we received the meat, it was cocked as ordered.

Beautiful island, beautiful hotel. Kindly staff especially Chris the baar tender. Breakfast buffe was great, good food. Island and hotel were silent, you can totally rest in this place. If you go to phi phi islands the ferry is picking you up from the pier front of hotell. Quite expensive food considering to like Koh Lanta.

We stayed here for 4 nights and found the staff to be very friendly, calm and relaxed. The room was very good, the views are spectacular and a great place to relax and unwind. Plenty to do on the island to enjoy. If you want a fast paced stay then this place is not for you.. loved it and would thoroughly recommend..

This place is absolutely amazing! The staff are so Nice and helpful, and the place is beautiful! The hotel is located on the beach, wich is so pretty. This is my 1st time here in this island for business trip. Im very very disappointed with the stuff.. since the time we have entered the property. We have asked for help for taking our bags and he rudely replied to take it yourself. I was very surprised at the stuff’s attitude.
