Where do I start in an attempt to describe a place as beautiful as Pruneta di Sopra? The privacy, the tranquility, the stunning scenery, the fabulous pool area, the well tended gardens, the beautiful house, charming wildlife, the fantastic barbecue area - I run out of superlatives. It really is my favourite place in the world. We chose to return... More

We stayed in this villa for 4 nights. We were 2 families including 4 adults and 3 children 9-11 years old. The reviews and the pictures for this property are very true, but really....the actual experience can't be put into words or pictures. Alessandro and his father were Professional, Personable and wonderful to deal with. My son had forgotten a... More

We stayed in the property for two nights, as part of our journey; which was the 1st time holiday in Italy. It's rather a surprise for the great garden and beautifully decorated room, with bathroom. Although it's winter, the view of green grass and white mountain made it unforgettable. With the heating, it's warm and comfortable inside; no matter how... More

My wife and I spent a delightful three weeks as guests of “Pruneta di Sopra”. An idyllic location on the outskirts of Garfagnana with stunning views of the mountains. The owners Francesco and Alessandro are very helpful with recommendations of areas and restaurants to visit don’t miss out on Bonini (see separate review). It’s very tempting to just stay at... Stayed here in August, and had the most amazing week. The property and its location were fantastic. Spent most of our time by the pool, enjoying the spectacular views. It was so quiet, and teemed with wildlife! Seeing shooting stars one night was just wonderful. Really hope that one day we will return!

The location is very good non touristic and quiet, short drive away from many interesting destinations, a wonderful restaurant Trattoria Bonini is just a couple kms away. We enjoyed our stay in this wonderful villa with a great view over... More

We stayed here in July 2013. I can only echo what previous reviewers have said. The owners are very welcoming and friendly without being intrusive at all. The weather was lovely during our visit apart from a couple of thunderstorms, so we spent most of the week enjoying the view while relaxing at the villa. The swimming pool, table tennis,... More

I stayed here for a week in May with other family members - including 3 adults and 4 children. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great for us, but we still made the most of our holiday and had a fantastic week away. The Villa is set in the most beautiful grounds. The main house is large, and there is plenty of... More

Perfect for families (we were 4 adults + 7 children) with amazing garden! We had space for football and baseball games, garden aerobics lots of swimming etc. After the space, the next best thing was the pizza oven! We lid it almost every night and had most amazing pizzas. Great hosts, beautiful house, great running terrain, no complaints! Weather was... More

Gorgeous, secluded Tuscan villa with all the ingredients needed for a wonderful holiday: beautiful mountain views; huge garden; swimming pool; open fire; wood burning pizza oven and barbecue. Go with friends or family and you'll hard pushed not to have a fabulous time.
