We stayed one night at this hotel in July 2022 and it was a very nice stay. The room was a superior room on the 3rd floor of the hotel annex. A slow-moving elevator for those who need it. The room was clean and had some special and nice details, like the name: "Lamborghini" :) Comfortable beds. Good bathroom, with make-up mirror. Breakfast is OK, you get what you need. Check out all the nostalgic pictures and posters on the walls in the buffet room! A little extra cleaning could have been done in the dining room where breakfast was taken. Nice receptionist. The Motor Museum is an experience in itself, overwhelmingly nostalgic! We also recommend the hotel due to its location on Lake Vättern and the Göta Canal.
Stayed overnight on 15.10.2019. Very nice situated with sea view and directly at the Göta chanal. Friendly welcome by staff at the reception. Nice room with sea view, clean room. Breakfast: arrived at 09:00 hours and served until 09:30. a wide selection of choices BUT scrambled eggs sold out, bacon and sausages cold., coffee machine empty. The staff was busy enjoying their breakfast together with the guests. On our request more hot coffee and more (cold) scrambled eggs was brought in. No doubt the breakfast buffet needs more attention by the staff in the opening hours. The free entrance to the automobile museum was a fantastic experience. You can spend hours here. Old classic cars and moreover examples of outdoor life of the past, almost all models of mobile phones, old radios, TV sets and a fine selection of Beatles records (even rare ones) brilliantly presented. Highly recommendable.…
I chose this hotel because of the attached motor museum. A little chaotic checking in as I arrived about 8:00pm and the reception staff had gone home. The barman made a phone call and sorted out my key. Attractive room, very simple but adequate with coffee and tea. Duvet a bit thin so a little bit cold in the night. Interesting motor museum within the hotel building. The bedrooms could have been given a motor theming to complete the experience. Breakfast adequate but not fabulous, would stay again however.
Very pleasant journey in Motala in the Nostalgi Hotell. Nice view for some rooms in front of the lake, nice people, nice food. The motor museum is a good activity if you have time. nostalgi is a good name for this hôtel :) I recommand!
We had booker a room at hotel Noststalgi, Motala. What We did NOT see was that by accident the hotel name was hotel nostalgi City! It is NOT far away but here on trip adviser it is not an Independent hotel. It is a little bit cheaper, but it is low class hotel . Thr First room there was NO Light in the bathroom. Almost NO People's Ib the hotel. The next room the slap dispensers were empty, and the reception was closed. The roo was clean. But it was not What We expected. So please be aware If and when you book to get the right Nostalgi hotel in fron of the Water .
Very nice hotel amenities and location. The food was also great but staff were not very friendly, especially the restaurant staff. That's unfortunate because otherwise they would have gotten a 5/5. I would probably stay somewhere else next time. The in house Motormuseum was great
Very good quality value for money. Beautiful location. Friendly staff. Good food. Nice space clean rooms. Lovely view of the harbour. Shops near by plus train station 5 mins walk away. Definitely going back very soon and will be staying lot longer.
This hotel was recommended to us after we booked a Gota Kanal boat ride on the M/S Kung Sverker located very close to the hotel. The hotel is perfectly situated in a beautiful location with lots to see and do. The onsite Motormuseum was a special treat as admission was included with the hotel stay so we had plenty of opportunities to visit it. If you love boats, water, walking, and fresh air this is the perfect place to stay in Motala. The breakfast was included and it was a great buffet.
Great food, good beds and perfect setting. The personal were very helpful with parking and in the restaurant the attention was perfect. Breakfast was simple but good. Nice touch with water cooler and coffee in the room
I don't believe that there's anywhere in Motala more beautiful. By the harbour at the biggest lake in Sweden (Vättern) the hotel has a magnificent view. The restaurant is a bit small nut the atmosphere can not be described - it has to be experienced. Furthermore the Motala Motor Museum brings back memories of a great time with many cars and other devices that I'll not mention here - as stated before - I must be better to go there and just experience the whole feeling. Very recommendable....
