Room: Some issues with décor & water penetration - dated & could certainly do with a revamp. Nowhere for towels as no rails or hoops. Shower not delivering the required wake up call and door to the shower cubicle was abnormally narrow. Comfy enough and warm. So a nice enough place to shelter the storms (& midges). Breakfast: Served stewed...

Stayed here recently for work. Room was clean and bed very comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were first class. I'm struggling to see why anyone has given a poor review. Would definitely go back.

I visited this hotel when I was a child, had fond memories and was excited to visit my ancestral home North Uist. It is now a poor quality hotel and a great disappointment. Positives: breakfast quite good and two members of hotel staff friendly (reception and breakfast), I don't have to go back. Negatives: very unfriendly evening staff on two...

Came in to have a quick warm after a ferry crossing back from Harris, started with drinks and ended up staying for a few hours with main meals and deserts. Really welcoming bar and a very big top row of whisky choice, dog very happy under the table, kids very happy tucking into freshly cooked paste, and parents very happy...

Hotel had lost our booking but found us a table fairly quickly. Boring selection of vegetarian options although to be fair they did try to come up with something that wasn't the macaroni cheese on the menu but it wasn't much more interesting and the pasta was overcooked. Took a long time to take our order and even longer to...

Stayed here for 1 night last week and it was just what I needed. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and the room was ideal for our overnight stay. The meals are top notch with a varied selection and a generous helping on your plate at very reasonable prices too. There are loads of sitting areas throughout the hotel to...

Found ourselves here at lunchtime, with great views across the water, and experienced excellent food and service. We enjoyed the tasty vegetable pakoras followed by the chocolate fudge cake - very good! If only we could have had time to sample the many whiskies!

Whilst my wife's meal of Chicken Diane was OK, that cannot be said of my "beef burger" which tasted more like sausage and contained within a bun that was drier than a dead dingo's donger. Usual array of keg beers and lagers on the bar enlivened by a Deuchars cask offering; pleasure was short lived however as it tasted similar...

You will definitely not go hungry when you have had something to eat here. The chicken strips are plentiful and the fillet of haddock is extraordinary. Excellent service and stunning views with a wide selection of drinks

The Public Bar offered the only refuge from the downpour outside, all the remaining seats in the lounge bar having been taken. The menu stuck to the table it was so greasy and the staff were rushed off their feet. The soup was fine but the pakoras were dry, the fish pieces excellent and the chips just OK whilst the...
