Making reservations via phone from Quito was easy. I checked in early afternoon and was given key to room. I went to Termas de Papallacta for few hours of soaking in fabulous hot springs and spa treatment. Returned to CHoza de Don Wilson at 8pm and the place was totally dark and all locked down. Ringing the door bell and...

We had eaten here once before with pretty good food. This time, my wife and I shared our food (beef and chicken) and got very, very classically sick! We had vomiting and diarrhea within a couple of hours of eating. It really ruined our trip.

After reading previous reviews, was looking forward to the local trout, whilst the trout (with garlic) was only €6 & was nice, but nothing to write home about, the restaurant was very cold, we had to keep our jackets on as did the other table, only part of the lights turned on, 2 ladies on the sofa watching the t.v...

Probably the best cooked food we have had since being in Ecuador for a week. Simply cooked but great quality. Very quaint atmosphere with excellent service (low season when we were there). The owner Don Wilson meaning Señor Wilson was delightful and brought us an aperitif that had anise but otherwise was 100 proof alcohol. All our meals were good...

Our large group arrived quite late in the evening, and were quickly showed to our rooms. The property looks like it is currently undergoing renovation, but it was not bothersome to our group. The room that I stayed in was spacious and clean, and had a private bathroom with a hot shower. However, there was no interior heating and was...

We (family of 4) ended up paying $120 for a room that should have cost us $50. The whole hotel was under renovation in various stages and the staff made little effort to accommodate or communicate with us in any way. We had to ask (mime) for everything and did not receive room service to empty the garbage, which is...

We stayed there on our tour to the Oriente (Napo). The room is big, but the bed is too small for a double bed. As it was really cold, there was only a insufficient gas heater located in the chimney. The room was offered as including Jacuzzi, but there was no possibility to bring water into it. The shower was...

The Hostal was OK, but the people running it were warm and Hospitable. They were flexible in providing food alternatives and breakfast, and all with a smile. I would also recommend hostería pampa papallacta , we toured this facility later and I was impressed with rooms/food and facility..
