It is midnight and there is thumping loud music pounding out from the owner's house over 100 meters away. So much for peace and quiet! Lots of wildlife, unfortunately 99.9% are mosquitos.lights in toilet do not work, compound resembles a building site, owner seems to have lost interest in taking care of the place. Checking out early

The Backpackers Paradise was a unique experience on my five-week trip through Central America. I chose the place for its off-the-beaten track nature, and as I was looking for somewhere to stay which was entirely rustic and natural, but also comfortable. The Backpackers Paradise did not disappoint. It felt like staying in an episode of "Ben Fogle's New Lives in... More

We stayed in Backpackers Paradise for 2 nights (before and after our visit to Shipstern) and had 2 different cabanas. By far the best value for money is the wooden house (number 6). A great place to stay with a big veranda and lots of space inside the cabana! Combined with the perfect food, the very friendly host Nathalie, the... More

Firstly, Natalie is the best. She is a great hostess that will accommodate guests in any way possible, but, for the most part, leave them to their own devices to explore the beautiful nature Sarteneja has to offer. Horses she keeps on the property roam freely around the cabanas. It's about a 10 minute walk to the waterfront...the view at... More

We stayed in the 4 person cabana with a full kitchen and it was lovely. The kitchen has a refrigerator and basic stove top, but it has pretty much everything you need. Nathalie is extremely accommodating to all needs and she even put two extra mattresses in our cabana to fit all of us. Also very good wifi in the... More

If you want to feel the natures vibes of belize and see horses wandering around, backpackers paradise is for you. The village is 5 minutes walk and the shipstern nature rezerve 3 miles away, easy access with the bike rental facilities. Great camping spot and the cabines are cosy and clean. Great wifi connexion in the communal room.

That is strange - that's what thought when I read those 5 bad reviews about this place. We stayed 2 nights at Nathalie's Paradise with a capital P and truly loved it. The calm and quiet days and nights, the fruit trees, the horses who are walking around not tight up, the chill common area and the great talks with... More

An amazing secluded bit of paradise, this place is what it says it is. Its quiet and gorgeous. The cabanas are perfect, the communal room is basic but has everything you need, and the wifi is fast (and that in a jungle is pretty awesome). Nathalie, the owner, is superfriendly and makes sure you are okay and have everything you... More

Cute rustic place with a great relaxed air about it. Rooms/huts arrested cute but very small. Do not leave any snacks in your room (even in sealed bags) as the ants are terrible. Owner Natalie is fun, she dj's in her room for guests some nights and makes pricey but tasty meals upon request. Lenny who often runs the front... More

“Small house with bathroom was pleasant if you want some space and your own bathroom (there's a smaller cabana with private bathroom for less that we didn't see that might be worth checking out), cabana #1 is nice if you just need a bed and don't mind using the shared facilities to toilet and hang out in.”
