It was slightly surreal ...a boat carrying us and our suitcases quietly up a back water, turning the bend to find ourselves on the lake and then beautiful lagoon and what can only be described as a welcome party. This happens for every arrival and departure sounded by a flute. I could have sat and watched the birds and boats...

Writing this review from our Heritage Mansion in Coconut Lagoon. Overall a decent place and a comfortable stay, but we felt the hotel lacks the wow factor that some of their competitors have. Whilst they make an effort to provide natural ingredients in their food and eliminate artificial stuff, the food was not top notch in terms of taste, even...

Wish we had had more than a single night here as it was a Kerala highlight for us. Arriving by boat is special enough but to be greeted by a flautist and beautiful girls took it up a couple of notches. The food in the seafood restaurant was superb, lobster cooked in a banana leaf worked for me. I joined...

This was our first visit to India and we regret not visiting before. This location is superb, the staff were brilliant and were both helpful and friendly. The nearby lake and ponds were a paradise for bird-watchers. The bungalows, Tharawads, were beautifully maintained with all facilities and air-con. Thankfully, no TV but WiFi was available. The Keralan cuisine was first...

We are fortunate to have stayed here on a number of occasions and our pleasure does not diminish. Arrival by boat is always a thrill, just that feeling of escaping from the madding crowd... We love the villas that face the backwaters, sitting out in the morning is delightful and passing boats and canoes offer a friendly wave. So glad...

This was our second visit here, the first being two years ago - the location is unbeatable but I think now the rooms are in need of some renovation and a bit of deep cleaning wouldn't go amiss. The outside bathrooms you either love or hate - I don't particularly like them and ours was certainly showing signs of wear...

We were supposed to stay at night on a boat but after looking into it we switched quickly to our next stay at Coconut Lagoon. We never regretted this step. The place and the rooms were wonderful, clean and lovely furnished. The service was very good and the food excellent. We only regretted the fact that the we had to...

We sadly only had two nights here and needed far longer....absolutely stunning setting. Our room had access straight to a shared pool but we were the only ones who used it! Steps from our room led straight into the pool......bliss! Without exception every member of staff we came into contact with were keen to ensure our stay was perfect and...

Fabulous venue. From the moment you arrive by boat, you feel this is somewhere special. Lovely helpful staff. Beautiful setting. Nice poolside and bar area. Great food in the restaurant and specialist seafood restaurant. Amazing wildlife, the 7am bird watching walk is well worth the early start. Excellent retreat, highly recommended.
