The Speke Bay Lodge is in an idyllic spot right on Lake Victoria and has everything you need. The food is ok and there is certainly is plenty of it. However we had steak one evening which was very tough and some of the group had wine that was a bit musty tasting. The Lodge does however seem to lack atmosphere....

We arrived here after two day in the Serengeti and anxious to have a bit of relax after the park experience and excitment. We found here the perfect place. The cottages are very confortable and with a lot of room in the living area too. They are directly on the Lake Victoria shores and offer a great vista. The personnel...

Stopped for a night on our way to Musoma and Tarime. Stayed in one of the circle huts which was comfortable. The bathroom is well maintained and had plenty of hot water from the solar heater outside. A nice veranda outside to relax and soak in all the beauty. The fan in the room doesn't quite keep you cool at...

After five days of camping it was a blessing to come to this place an enjoy a hot shower. We had no advance booking but we were lucky they had two rooms for our group. We were well received and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and well built and clean bungalows. The food is good and the service friendly. The place...

We booked this lodge through Basecamp Tanzania. Right on Lake Victoria this lodge is in a beautiful area. We were the only people there for the 2 nights we were there. The staff was friendly but it felt odd being the only ones there. We went on a great canoe trip to a fishing village, the highlight of the trip...

We have been staying there already four times and we absolutely love it. Very nice architecture and care with charme. Bungalows are cute with nice terrasse facing the grass and lake victoria. Lobby area and bar at sand beach overlooking lake with nice trees and birds. Enjoy the beach and lake but do not go close to water due to...

My girlfriend and I completed an eight-day safari from Arusha to the Serengeti, and like many safari-goers, we ended our journey with a night at Speke's Bay Lodge. Each banda -- there are about eight or so at the lodge -- is modern and spacious. They are powered by solar energy and a generator, so at certain times of day...

Nice location by Lake Victoria. Lots and lots of birds around if bird watching is your thing. The hotel offer and excellent bird walk. We also did the trip around the Lake by boat which was good. Rooms a nice size. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was very nice.

Tucked beneath an enormous tree on the edge of Lake Victoria, surrounded by amazing bird life with far-reaching views out over the lake and stunning sunsets. Beautifully designed cottages with plenty of space, hot water and comfy beds. Food delicious - lots of local fish, friendly staff, great laundry service who weren't phased by mounds of filthy laundry after five...

Very nice ambiente in the room as well as in the lobby and dining room. Very hot at night and we were afraid of letting the balcony doors open to cool down (because no net and they told us a crocodile is always coming to the hotel). People were very friendly. The journey to the fisher village is great and...
