If you are looking for a super chill place to relax and decompress, you will find it at Encantada. The staff was pleasant, eager to help, and super attentive, and they always went out of their way to accommodate our requests. When we needed a ride to the grocery store or ATM, a staff member willingly provided it. During our stay, a Meditation Retreat occupied three-quarters of the rooms. Fortunately, we booked Casa Boruca 2, one of two rooms next door to Encantada. The owner of these rooms recently passed, and Encantada now manages and uses them as "overflow" when fully booked. No one was in Casa Boruca 1 during our entire stay, so we had the whole place to ourselves, including the pool. The attached photos are of Casa Boruca. We still had full access to all the amenities at Encantada, which was only steps away. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, the views were fantastic, and we loved meeting some local ex-pats at the Thursday Night Happy Hour. We enjoyed all our meals at Encantada, and when we wanted something different, we walked down the beach to Alma (a 3-minute walk) and Don Toro (a 10-minute walk). The beach was gorgeous and quiet - NEVER crowded, and no screaming kids. The only negative was one of the activities Encantada scheduled for us with a third-party provider - horseback riding on the beach. The horses were old and tired; one even collapsed on the beach during our ride. It was incredibly hot that day, and we wish we had followed our intuition and canceled the ride after first seeing the horses, but Gustavo insisted the horses were fine and could handle the heat. He was wrong, and we felt terrible for continuing the ride. I offer this only as a 'heads-up,' not as a reflection of Encantada, as the only thing within their control is whether they continue to book the service for their guests. I have hosted two yoga retreats here and I cannot say enough about how wonderful this place is. The food is so delicious and healthy. The atmosphere is bright and relaxing and everything you would expect from a beachfront oasis. It's smaller which is perfect when you want a place that you can have for yourself. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to host a small and intimate yoga retreat. THANK YOU!

What an amazing experience we had!!! From the moment you walk into the property you feel something shift. The grounds are beautiful, calm and inviting! Our two teenage boys even commented, “This place is amazing!” We stayed in pool side Cabana 3. Perfect size for us 4. Comfortable beds and the A/C kept it cool even though it was 90 plus degrees out. Restaurant had great staff and amazing food. We ate most meals there. Beach was empty, waves were safe and water was warm. We would highly recommend coming here!!!!

This was my third year returning to Encantada. I love that the resort is nestled between the ocean and jungle. I feel a deeper connection to nature, and practicing yoga here is truly magical. The locally sourced food is deeply nourishing and prepared with love and care by the staff. Cabanas are charming comfortable and immaculate. I’m always confident bringing a group here for a retreat. There are also so many nearby excursions they will organize, from the Manuel Antonio park tour, waterfall hikes to surfing lessons, etc. Every sunset is uniquely stunning from this beachfront and your stay here will leave you glowing inside and out.

Encantada is a very special place, and we can’t imagine having spent our honeymoon anywhere else. Our stay here felt very peaceful and private. Ricky, as well as the rest of the staff here were kind and helpful. The restaurant was consistently delicious, and the beautiful scenery speaks for itself. We hope to come back someday.

The place was perfect for a few days of decompression after an active birdwatching trip. The room were clean cottages. The people working there were efficient and kind. Food was good. Really recommend for a quiet time at the beach in Costa Rica.

Another wonderful New Year's spent at this incredible place. Truly a little heaven-on-earth. This was a redux of a family reunion (from California, Tennessee, & Ohio) of 4 years ago. And while worried if one really can go home again, this year's trip exceeded expectations. The site is incredible, the beach outstanding. Add in the personnel and service and you won't find a better place to get away to. We're all back in the states...and already plotting our next trip to Encantada. Trust me...stay here and you'll love it as do I.

Wow. Double wow. We stayed at Encantada for the last leg of our trip in Costa Rica to relax after a lot of trekking and hiking. It was paradise. We were overwhelmed when we arrived, the room was beautiful, it’s on the ocea, it’s so clean and the food is just the most amazing we’ve had in a long time (particularly the tacos!). What really makes this place though is the staff. Everyone was so smiley and happy to help and the service was impeccable. We LOVED everyone! From happy hour to morning juices it was just perfect! We did yoga most days which was all fantastic and on the days we didn’t we surfed with their resident surf instructor Alfredo and had a great time. Can we come back?!?!

A beautiful spot on a stunning beach. Pool and restaurant lovely. Would definitely return! Positives - very friendly, incredible sunrises and sunsets, food excellent, pool stunningly beautiful, surfing great fun, we had rays swimming in the waves with us and pelicans gliding past. Running on the beach was excellent too. We found the food and cocktails at the Alma next door was marginally better and service faster than Encantada (service v slow!) Worth watching for - bring $ cash for any excusrsions. We didn’t have our own transport and I ended up having to get a taxi (round trip $30) to the ATM. The room we had was pretty basic for the cost, (pretty much in the car park!) and a strange layout with two bathrooms in one bedroom so the people in second room had to come into first bedroom to use the toilet!…
