Beautiful grounds. Easy access Ocean front beach. Nice, clean room, comfortable bed, plenty of hot water. The pool is large enough to swim in and multi level for all ages. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I would stay here again !

Our experience at Sunset Del Mar was exceptional! A beautiful property steps from the beach. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets, amazing food and the staff went above and beyond to make our week awesome. The rooms are nice, beds are comfortable and AC works great! Close proximity for day trips to sightsee. Relaxing atmosphere We highly recommend Sunset Del Mar!

A run down place with almost no staff and everything is broken or uncared for. The positive reviews on this place must be written by the owners mother. A dump that once upon a time must have been a nice place. But that day has long passed. Book here if you have no standards.

Most comfortable bed of our entire trip!! Nice bedding. Very large room and huge bathroom. AC worked great. Gorgeous gardens and pool. Plenty of seating around the pool. The beach across the road was perfect - lovely, palm tree shade, lounge chairs and low lights in the evening. Restaurant was good, but not everything on the menu is available. Good bar. Staff was adequate, but most were cool and distant. Fun to see a sloth in a nearby tree. Great birds around and a nice patio attached to our room. Coffee in the room was good. Bit expensive for what we got, but we would go back!

I recently had the pleasure of spending 5 days at Sunset Del Mar Resort in Estrellos Costa Rica. I cannot express enough how much I enjoyed it. It was private, casual, laid-back, beautiful, and luxurious at the same time. The seminar room was spacious and yet intimate. There was a variety of delicious, home cooked meals of local cuisine. With 7 miles of beach, a gym, and a lovely swimming pool I was happy to spend my free time at the resort, rather than venture off, although many other seminar participants did just that. I found the staff to be friendly and attentive. I am hoping to return there sometime in the future.

Pros: clean rooms, air conditioning was fabulous, right on the beach, quiet, easy to get to. Cons: very short staffed, upkeep is a bit lacking, not all amenities are available. We only stayed here for one night and the location was right on the beach and the rooms were clean and comfy. It did however have an air of abandonment that was a bit off setting. The staff was kind and hopefully working their way back up to a fully functioning resort! It has great bones/ potential but was over priced for its current state.

A charming resort offering the best of everything you need and want in Costa Rica. My Villa was spacious with a super comfortable pillowtop queen bed, after full days of activities it was heaven to come back too. The outdoor dinning room was beautiful, where you could sit and watch the waves roll in and the sun set every night. The food I ate was a delicious aray of local foods. I attended a ‘Moving To Costa Rica Seminar’ hosted by the resort owner Matt. Matt and his team put together an amazing group of relocation experts to speak to us on the many various topics needed to make a move to living in Costa Rica possible. The event was packed full of value, organized extremely well, fun activities/tours were available to see more of Costa Rica outside of the resort. I feel my expectations were met 10 fold in terms of time, money and learning. All at a 5 star resort, if you’re thinking of moving to Costa Rica, you really need to attend this Moving To Costa Rica Seminar. Highly recommended.…

Beautifully landscaped property with pool, outdoor dining restaurant, fitness center and steps from the Esterillos Este Beach. Very tranquil, quiet beach with minimal people around. Ocean is great, just be mindful of rip currents. Can request horseback riding, massage services, use of pool/gym & the gardens. Secluded & at least 1/2 mile from nearest town, so taxi or vehicle needed to get around…30-60 mins from Manuel Antonio; Jaco, Playa Hermosa, but 2-hrs from San Jose Airport area.Rooms very comfortable & spacious (Villas, Suites or Apartments). Free Wi-fi, bathroom amenities, coffee maker,etc.

The relocation retreat was money well spent. Nicely organized, great speakers held at a beautiful resort right on the beach. Resort staff and accommodations were second to none. Highly recommended it if you’re interested in making the move to Costa Rica!

I had a great experience. I rented the Villa which was spacious and clean with plenty of drawers to put my clothes. I ran into an issue with the room and was promptly upgraded to an even more beautiful accommodation. The management and staff were so pleasant. Mario was fantastic in walking me through my arrangements for my stay and the manager was a gracious hostess. The foos will not disappoint.
