The room looks promising and as long as you don’t have the wrong expectations in terms of cleanliness/comfort, you’ll be OK here. There’s a great view of the river and forest beyond which you can gaze at while relaxing on the balcony in your hammock. Our room was spacious and the location was just a short distance from the boat...

I loved being by this river and surrounded by nature and wildlife. On the first evening I met a couple from the UK who persuaded me to go trekking with them the next day. This was one of the most amazing days I have ever had and also one of the most exhausting! I was almost crying by the end...

Agun the owner, Joseph and Akim (Kim) did a fantastic job of looking after us in Bukit Lawang. They have 4 rooms, 2 of which are under renovation but the room we stayed in next to the river on the 1t floor was fantastic. Nice and clean, 4 poster bed, big balcony with sunbed and hammock overlooking the river. The...

We stayed here only for one night after staying at a different place the nights before. The location is great -- at the end of Bukit Lawang, a minute away from the Orang Utan feeding station, directly at the river. The ground floor room has even a little garden and direct access to the river. Great to relax in the...

Jungle Tribe is a great place to stay in Bukit Lewang. Although a little more expensive than some of the backpacker places (like Nora's for example). The only thing I'm still not sure on which rooms belong to Jungle Inn (next door) and which ones belong to Jungle Tribe. Also I'm not sure why we were put in the shack...

I was travelling for 2 months in Southeast Asia with a friend and one of the best places we stayed was this one. Really cool people who tried to do their best and gave lots of entertainment in the evenings (guitar playing etc), awesome to meet some other people. We also did the jungle tour for 2 days, one night....

Staying at the Jungle Tribe was one of the best decisions I made for the trip. Although my friend and I were only there for a night, the staff welcomed us right from the start, where we were picked up by Agun from the airport even though we did not make prior arrangements. He took us to one of his...

We were backpacking through SE Asia so used to roughing it in prison cell like rooms. This was a world away! Beautifully designed, the room was huge and overlooked the river and jungle. We spotted monkeys and on our last day we were really lucky to spot orangutans! The staff are lovely, they only have a couple of rooms but...

Stayed four nights at Jungle Tribe and loved it. Agun organised the airport pickup from Medan to Bukit Lawang for my wife, daughter and I. At BL we were greeted by 2 guys from Tribe who helped carry our bags to our lodgings. We stayed in the stand - alone riverside "house". My wife and I stayed in the upstairs...
