They have reopened this place but obviously they have forgotten to clean the rooms. They were rather unpleasant and did not feel nice at all. Extremely slow service in the restaurant and lots of plates were not possible to get. Breakfast buffet very boring. Looks nice on the surface but there is very little behind this. Go somewhere else.
the service was excellent, but the room was so hot even though we've turned on the AC for hours. it's not because Palu is hot. the next day i moved into a new hotel and the AC is really cool. anyway, the room is big and quaint, and the breakfast is delicious too.
I stayed in this hotel for two nights. It was very good by western standards. Very helpful staff. Food was great. Very clean indeed. Would be happy to stay there again. Super close to the airport, walking distance petty much but no typical airport noise. Rooms were quiet.
Stay 2 days when i visited Palu. Since this hotel near from the airport, in my opinion this hotel good for business travelers or transit passenger who wants to stay a night in order to catch the next day flight. My stayed was ok, nothing special except there was a halloween party until midnight at the outdoor park. The sound of the party was heard from the room and it was annoying. The amenities was complete and oke, breakfast was quite various and the staff was helpfull. The hotel really close to the airport but quite far from the beach or the crowd, but i don't mind since Palu has no traffic.
Expensive for the area. Clean rooms, comfortable beds. Not a lot of English spoken and check in is slow but housekeeping staff were extremely helpful when my daughter was sick. They changed sheets and even suggested and collected medicine from pharmacy. Cool water in showers and both times we ate in the restaurant food was cold. 5 minutes drive from airport. Hotel car dropped us at airport - no charge.
the rooms are quite nice, clean and comfortable. it's just that time I remember when ordering room servise, the restaurant staff made a mistake. I ordered a pizza without any meat, but when it came was a pizza with chicken. but no problem. I also have experience working in a restaurant. so I understand this. Overall, I liked this hotel.
I stayed in this hotel for one night because I have an early flight to catch the next day and this hotel is very near to the airport. It turned out that the only good thing about this hotel is its very close distance to the airport. This is a relative new hotel but it looked worn out. The room is spacious, but the furniture seemed old and rusty. The mattress was hard. The airconditioner in my room did not work and i had to call the AC technician to repair it because its so hot inside, but still the AC did not work. The bathroom amenities are minimal, the towel was dirty and old. The food in the restaurant was very little in variety, and the staff let people smoke in the retaurant (which is supposed to be smoke free). The swimming pool is dirty. This is one of the most expensive hotel in Palu, but it totally did not live to expectation. Staying here is not worth the price. With its price, you can get ten times better experience in another hotel in Palu. I will not stay in this hotel again unless i absolutely have yo without other options.…
My wife and I stayed for 5 nights at the Sutan Raja. First the pros: good sized room, strong air conditioner, good variety of food at the included breakfast. The small pool was nice and there was an exercise room. The hotel is close to the airport. The cons: the Sutan Raja is supposed to be a non smoking hotel. Yet we constantly had problems with cigarette smoke coming into our room. Sometimes it was so bad it interrupted our sleep and we had to hold the covers over our face. The staff responded by spraying air freshener in the hallways but would not knock at doors and stop people from smoking. (Suggestion to the hotel management- require a deposit from all customers which is not returned if they smoke in the rooms.) There were not enough people working during the busy breakfast time. Those who were working did work hard and responded as well as they could. But they were overwhelmed by the number of people dining. So tables were dirty and piled with plates, coffee would run out, the fruit table empty, etc. The Sutan Raja is a nice hotel. With stricter and enforced rules about smoking, and the addition of staff at breakfast it could be rated as a four. …
This is a superb hotel, the staff were very friendly, all the facilities you would expect and more. Though I only used the pool, there was a gym and spa. The air conditioning was the coolest I've ever felt. Everything was clean and the food was lovely. I enjoyed every part of my stay and would highly recommend.
Where to,start? I speak Indonesian, had a prior reservation, was assured I could pay on arrival. The credit card machine didn't work. They insisted on cash before my going to my room. A staff person walked me down the road to a broken ATM machine. I stormed back in, and my tirade worked after they ignored me while checking in a group. The very kind GM Mr. Firman, who jokingly said he was a fireman, came, let me pay by debit card. He offered me a drink and gave me his name card. He arranged the free 4:45am car to the airport and packet breakfast. Wake up call failed, and wifi only worked next to the room door. I have a clock. I was already up. Lack of training and lack of caring by the the front desk people mars an otherwise ok hotel. Oh, and whatever you order in the restaurant brought the waitress back with "kosong" meaning they ran out of it. I will stay there again as it is very close to the airport and I hope Mr. Firman is there to check me in. Groups and conventions plus prepaid solo guests get treated well.…
