Lake Sentani is a beautiful place. The lake is huge, yet very close to Jayapura. I travelled around the lake by hitching rides with local people, and by doing so I got to see the inside of many homes because everybody was very friendly and hospitable. The best way to avoid the embarrassment of offering money in return for naturally...

I've stayed 3 different times in this hotel. Staff needs serious training. Check in time takes so long & annoying. Food is cold & takes too long to be served. Breakfast is all Indonesian & cold. Recently we stayed as a family & upgraded to Business Executive suit. The sheets were disgusting! had period blood stains on them. The pillows...

I visited the Travellers Hotel Sentani after an eight-day expedition into the Papuan jungle – and after sleeping in a tent and not having a proper shower for over a week, the hotel seemed like luxury to me! Jungle swashbuckling aside, I was extremely pleased with my stay at the Travellers Hotel Sentani. The rooms are clean, tasteful and comfortable,...

Sewage smell in the room every other day. Pool was green and very dirty and the pool never had enough towels. Housekeeping took all of our towels without replacing them. Beds were made but the sheets were never changed. Our friends stayed in the room next to us and had blood on the sheets when they checked in. Shower drain...

This hotel is starting to look tired. Check in is slow, breakfast not western-friendly, and wifi temperamental. Restaurant menu is uninspiring, but just a 10 minute walk away is a great street side restaurant serving the best fish in Papua, it's next door to a bakery called something like prima garden. Come out of the hotel, turn right, cross the...

Average quality hotel but rather good for Papua. No wifi operating but a signal. Breakfast not good for westerners. Good location not far from regional airport. Relatively good value for money. Restaurant average.

Yes, there is a self-playing grand piano in the beautifully marbled lobby, which suggests something of an extreme difference to the Papua outside the door. Everything works well, the rooms are high quality, the bed comfortable, the staff nice. Breakfast isn't five star, which is in keeping with other food I've had in the province so far. The coffee isn't...
