The new hotel was clean, comfortable, and quiet. A good value for Pankalanbun. Location is near the market, and near the river, perfect for the evenings. Food stalls in the vicinity, and one restaurant nearby. Would definitely stay there again.

Tiara, the new block, has good sized rooms, but that is all. It is perhaps equivalent to two star hotels. The hotel provides a tea/coffee/water dispenser on the floor, which is a comfort. The hotel doesn't have elevator, which could be problem for elderly guests. The breakfast was very basic, with nothing for vegetarians. The all-in-one staff was helpful.

Its okay for 1 night before /after a trip to the national park. I had a Basic room with a fan, but rooms with AC are available. No western toilet, not all rooms have a shower (theres a bucket)! Sheets were clean, indonasian breakfast is included. A lot of warungs, Shops and atm nearby.

It's a bit run down but the price is good for what you get. Rooms are basic but sheets are clean and there is cable tv. Breakfast was bread and tea although Indonesian people got nasi goreng so I guess you could request that?? There are supermarkets nearby and only 2 restaurants that we found.

There are lots of room options available, at cheaper prices than other hotels in the area. Tiara staff are great, breakfast is simple but tasty, the rooms are clean and comfortable, with good a.c and tv. The hotel is pretty basic with no hot water, a very basic bathroom and no wifi. There are a couple of supermarkets and internet...

After spending 4 days in the Tanjung Puting National Park we went to this hotel because our guide's assistant booked a room for us. Usually, we are independent travelers and are looking for a room by ourselves, comparing different options. But as we have had (of course) no Internet in the Park and just wanted to stay for one night,...

Lonely Planet calls it a meticiously kept place. We got an other experience: rooms were not clean at all, especially the bathroom was dirty. There were a lot of musquito's because the window didn't close properly. Thanks to this, we spend the evening in the hall, which is clean. Maybe it had been a better idea to spend the night...

But then there isn't much choice in PB, it's ok for a night, but I also stayed in Hotel Makota which I liked better it's much further down the same road. There were lots of mosquitos in my room and rooms are run down, don't know what Lonely planet is on about when they say "it's well maintained" but then...

After visiting Tanjang Puting national park we stayed over in Pangkalan Bun for two nights. We were originally shown to a standard double which was cell-like and the room with a tiny window set about eight feet up in the wall. The room was just larger than a double bed. We opted for a deluxe room with featured two single...

“The cheapest option (9.5 USD) comes with fan, the next cheapest option (14.5 USD) comes with AC and no fancy extras but the room is just good enough to stay and clean if you do not expect more.”
